“Very good tapas and martini's - makes you feel you're somewhere else.”
Reviewed August 3, 2011

We wound up being seated right overlooking the water. The atmosphere is very upscale and yet comfortable. The martini's are excellent. We sampled several items off the tapas and enjoyed everyone one. Our favorite was the spanish bbq shrimp. The service was very attentive as well. This is a great place to dine, whether it be just a few tapas, or having dinner.

“The complete package, service, food, location.”
Reviewed August 1, 2011

Martini Beach has everything I'd ask for in a restaurant great food, friendly staff, lovely ambiance, and good value for the price. As others have said, the view from the second floor and the intimate table make for a great place for a date. Our server, Rosie was bubbly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The food was scrumptious and a delight to our taste buds.

We chose to go with the tapas and had a satisfying meal consisting of 3 plates. First the steamed mussels in the red sauce, which was savory without being overly acidic; highly recommend it. The mussels were wonderfully fresh without that "fishy" taste old mussels get at some restaurants. Then we had the lobster mac & cheese which was wonderful, and I now believe the menu when it calls it a local legend. It is legend worthy. Our 3rd dish was the Kobe beef skewers which were as good as Kobe should be. It was a smaller dish but the meat was perfect.

They also have some nice spins on cocktails (and don't stint on the alcohol, so if your server warns you a drink is strong, believe them). Our favorite was the Elderflower Tea Cocktail which was refreshing and unique drink without being overly sweet. The Cucumber and Basil Gimlet was also quite good. The Dirty Buffalo was interesting...but doesn't really pair well with anything else, so I'd give it a pass unless you are only having it with bread or looking for something really, really different.

Overall, a great experience and we hope to go back again soon.

“Exceptional”
Reviewed August 1, 2011

We visited Martini Beach for my birthday last week. It is located beach front, on the 2nd floor in a quaint victorian seaside resort. We began the evening in the bar, enjoying happy hour - - $5.00 martinis! They were the best! And the bartender was so helpful as we tried to make a choice...he was knowledgeable about all aspects of the restaurant and bar. The bar is small, so we arrived early to make sure we got a seat with an ocean view! After happy hour, we moved onto the porch for dinner. Dinner was delicious! We began with tapas...my husband tried the pastrami spare ribs! The best he had ever had! I had the lobster quiche(!) which was filled with pieces of lobster. We both ordered the paella as a main course....we could have shared one and had more than enough to eat! It was loaded with seafood...a half-dozen each of large shrimp, scallops and mussles - and 2 little lobster tails! I have never had a better paella! We did not have the room to even HEAR about the dessert menu! This is a pricy restaurant...but well worth it. The food, the view on the porch, the wait staff - - all above average! I would not bring children here...it is more appropriate for older teens and up. A piano player was playing in the main dining area (inside) during our meal. They do have evening entertainment - such as "open mike" night...which the bartender told us has bought out some very impressive local talent. We look forward to a return for happy hour and tapas in the near future!

“Delicious!”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

We loved the atmosphere and scenery! We sat at the tables facing the windows that over look the ocean. There was someone playing a piano which added to the ambiance. We ordered Tile Fish, Moroccan Chicken and Zucchini and Peppers. Everything was amazingly delicious!

“go here for Happy Hour”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

This is place is a bit overpriced but quite affordable for happy hour. They have 5 drinks well prepared. Our bartender Tim was really friendly. They also had 5 small entrees. We got ribs, calamari, and hummus all of which were delicious but I have to say that those were some of the best ribs I've ever had. The dining room is pretty and inviting and you can look out at the ocean from the bar. Definitely come here if you want a drink or a little food for happy hour!
