If you eat here, just order the pizza. I choose the white clam pizza and it was delicious. I still think of it on occasion. Tasted the fish & chips...it was fine, just not great. They really need a better beer menu. I would go back for the pizza and certainly give their other items a chance.

We should have been forewarned when we found out they didn't take reservations. Extremely crowded, long wait. Food was OK. I had Pescatore, not bad. My wife had a salad. They had RC cola when I asked for diet. Who has RC cola? Finally one strong point was they had pizzas along with the rest of the menu which was awesome for families.
It just didn't work for us.

We just spent the weekend in Cape May and our first stop was Lucky Bones. We had never been there before but we were hungry for some lunch and it was the first restaurant we saw coming over the bridge into Cape May. What a pleasant surprise. We like to sit at the bar and eat and this was no exception. My wife had the crabcake sandwich and I had the shrimp salad sandwich. Both sandwiches were excellent. The place was packed for lunch------packed with locals. If the locals are eating there then the food must be excellent. We felt that the cost was reasonable. We loved the atmosphere of the place and the bartender was pleasant and efficient. We intend to return.

We've been to Lucky Bones many times. Let's get the minor quibbles out of the way first. No onion soup on the menu, no onion rings either and no pure crab cakes as they are mixed with shrimp. But they have one of the best appetizers anywhere in their Lil's Last Stop Fries. It's a casserole of french fries smothered in crusted cheese and topped with bacon, scallions and jalapeno peppers with an excellent ranch sauce served on the side. It's an appetizer that will serve 3 people easily.

NJ Monthly magazine rated their burgers as one of the ten best in the state. They are quite tasty and served with caramelized onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and I add bacon to the mix as well as cheese. The rolls are also special. If you've had the Lil's Fries appetizer then ask the waitress to sub out the fries with the burger in favor of a house salad. The best entree is their Cuban Spiced Rubbed Pork Chop and blackboard specials are available each day.

The service is always friendly. Last night we accidentally spilled a martini at the table breaking the glass. Waitresses swooped in with cloths to clean up our mess and promptly brought a complimentary replacement. Both the waitress and her helper were attentive without being in the way. You might want to try their pizzas which are of the thin crust variety. One caveat though - this is a popular place. They do a brisk business even in the off season. The bar area is surrounded by TV's but does not infringe on the dining room which includes spacious booths and a fireplace. Now, if we can get some onion rings with that burger that would be perfect.
