This place gets it right!! This is especially true as it is a shore location that is fortunately open all year. We have dined here numerous times and it has recently changed its menu and is now offering grass-fee, no anti-biotic meats and chicken. It locally sources much of its food, including the seafood, provides good service, fair portions, reasonable prices and flavorable food. And it has a bar with an array of wines and beers for all tastes and price ranges. What's not to like????

We had 2 beers and glasses of wine, split a large Rocket salad that comes with olives and wood-fired stove cooked vegetables and a green godess dressing. The grilled chicken with prosciutto was wonderfully prepared and delicious - kudos to the restaurant for providing natural chicken, the taste is wonderful. The NJ scallops special was likewise delicious although I personally could do without the butter sauce. That said, the sauce was lighter than most and in no way an impediment to the entree. Total cost before tip was $80.

If you are in Cape May, want a reliable meal that has flavor and won't break the bank, this is your place. We return as frequently as we can, particularly on the off-season when it isn't as packed.

I love this place and come here often for a meal, a sandwich and beer, or a wood-fired pizza. All very good. But when this place is busy in the evening, and in season, this is every evening, the noise can be awful. Last night my wife and I hurried through pizzas and beer to escape the noise. There is a desperate need for something to absorb the noise....or maybe not, the place is almost always busy.

We arrived at 5 p.m. on a Friday and were lucky to be seated without a wait. The menu is extensive with both light fare and traditional entrees. My husband chose Lil's Last Stop Fries (fries with melted cheese, bacon, scallions, jalapenos and ranch dressing) as an appetizer and the portion is huge. I had the Rocket Salad (arugula, olives, oven roasted vegetables, fresh mozzarella with creamy green vinaigrette). Both starters were delicious. I enjoyed mussels in Gorgonzola basil tomato sauce served over Italian bucatini and my husband had the prime rib. Our meals were delicious and we especially enjoyed the homemade focaccia bread with the excellent dipping oil and herbs. The herb mix was so good we bought a bottle to take home! This is a noisy, busy restaurant and every time we drove by the parking lot was filled to capacity -- because the food is so good and the prices are reasonable. We look forward to eating here again.

You know it's good when the locals are there! Busy, casual place to get anything from pizza to full meals. Quick turnover, extremely nice friendly staff that are very efficient. Don't let the crowd send you away...the wait was shorter than we were told and worth it!

We have a home in Cape May, and Lucky Bones is our go-to place. The atmosphere is lively and convivial, the drinks are good-sized, and the food is wonderful with nice-sized portions. The daily specials concentrate on what is fresh that day and, particularly in the summer, the fish & seafood are divine!
Lucky Bones is open year round, so weekends in the winter can be a bit crowded and in the summer, it is always busy for dinner! Go early or go for lunch -- the menu is the same except for the availability of the dinner entrees (but those are only 10% of the menu).
Highly, highly recommend for all - families, couples, singles - go!
