My friend and I had an absolutely enjoyable time tasting some wine and then having cheese, crackers and beverages around the fire pit on the small patio area of the winery.
Patty in the Gift Shop area was a joy to speak with and as an employee. The girls in the beautiful tasting room were also wonderful. They accomodated us in every way including taking some photos of us. Wonderful atmosphere in the tasting room.
You can tour the vineyards with a guided tour on weekends or tour on your own as well as bring in your own lunch to have with wine purchased from the gift shop, either on a deck over-looking the vineyards or on the patio that also has a view of the vineyards.
The fee for tasting is reasonable and you can get 6-7 tastes (they advertise 6 tastes for $6 but if you don't like one and only take a tiny sip, they'll give you another!)
I can't express enough what a nice, nice time we had at the winery. We shopped in the gift shop, tasted wine and then bought cheese and crackers to have with wine/soda on the patio.

Thank Pat H

The Winery is in a very pretty setting and tour guide was helpful. However we didn't like most of the wines (too sweet) for our taste so if you like sweet wines then you would enjoy this place on a nice day.

We spent a wonderful afternoon recently wine tasting around Cape May...this place fell at the bottom of the barrel, as it were. We walked into a large room..few clumps of people around but no signage or immediate clue as to where to go for a tasting. We found a man in one corner who was curt, dismissive and just indicated to "go to the back room". It looked a grand place, quite large with barrels decorating the walls. Two bartenders were helping two groups of two each at the tasting bar..we sat at one of the tables. No-one greeted us so after about five minutes I walked up to the bar and asked after tasting..the first bartender said she was busy, the second bartender said she could help us in a few minutes. It seemed odd they were so seemingly overwhelmed by four customers being joined by two more. When we did get to the tasting, the woman was a newbie with little information about the wines--which we found very mediocre compared to others we had tried that day. We left without buying anything (and we arrived certainly prepared to buy!). The personnel seemed not to be the best choice for interacting with customers. Next time we'll give this place a skip.

We visited the Cape May winery on a sunny Sunday afternoon and did our tasting on the deck. The bartender was very knowledgeable and made it quite the pleasant experience. And we love our souvenir glasses

We began the day by having a late picnic lunch on the patio just outside the wine tasting room. We purchased a bottle of wine to enjoy with our lunch. It was a crisp Saturday afternoon and many people were doing the same; cheese/crackers/meats are available for purchase also. The burning fire pit was a nice touch as well. At 3 p.m. we started our tour adventure. The tour was informative, fun, and interactive. I believe we sampled 7 or so wines + cheese, crackers, and grapes were available for nibbling on too. The sampling glass is yours to keep. Cost is $20/person; I happened to purchase A BOGO deal from Living Social so only had to pay for one ticket for 2 people. Reservations are suggested.
