I can't recommend the Skimmer more highly, especially for families. We have been out with Captains Ginny and Ed for several years now, taking our girls and a combination of extended family each time; and every year we're reminded of why it's one of our favorite things to do in Cape May. They are wonderfully knowledgeable, funny and warm guides to the birds and other wildlife of this unique and beautiful area, as well as fascinating on the area's history. The kids get to examine first hand some of the creatures they pull out of the marsh -- starfish, urchins, crabs and more -- and both Ginny and Ed are keen-eyed spotters of the sometimes elusive birds all around. You don't have to be a "birder" to find this tour really worth the time and moderate cost -- just interested in the natural world. A real wonder, and a great contrast/complement to the beach and Victorian-houses side of Cape May.
