“One of the best things about Cape May”

Salt Marsh Safari-The Skimmer
Ranked #1 of 28 Tours in Cape May

I can't recommend the Skimmer more highly, especially for families. We have been out with Captains Ginny and Ed for several years now, taking our girls and a combination of extended family each time; and every year we're reminded of why it's one of our favorite things to do in Cape May. They are wonderfully knowledgeable, funny and warm guides to the birds and other wildlife of this unique and beautiful area, as well as fascinating on the area's history. The kids get to examine first hand some of the creatures they pull out of the marsh -- starfish, urchins, crabs and more -- and both Ginny and Ed are keen-eyed spotters of the sometimes elusive birds all around. You don't have to be a "birder" to find this tour really worth the time and moderate cost -- just interested in the natural world. A real wonder, and a great contrast/complement to the beach and Victorian-houses side of Cape May.

Anyone staying in Cape May should make arrangements to explore the salt marsh with Skimmer Salt Marsh Safari. We just took our grandson on the trip and he is still talking about it. Captains Ginny and Ed are fun, knowledgeable and eager to make your learning experience a day to remember. Thank you for a great day. We will make this a yearly trip.

Highly recommended. The "captains" are a couple who obviously love birding and love what they do. We saw great egrets, snowy egrets, osprey and many other birds. Take bug spray!

Awesome trip. I caught several crabs and then they pull traps and split with everyone so everyone gets crabs. Highly recommend this trip. I will go again when friends and family come down.

We had a great experience taking the Salt marsh Safari.

The owners were extremely friendly, entertaining, knew their 'stuff', and made the experience really enjoyable. Well worth the cost, recommend for family members of all ages, they are careful to have something to entertain everyone.

In addition to the sights, there also was a commentary of how important the wetlands are for life in the sea in general; an important message to take home with us.
