Have been going to cape may for years and stayed at the sanpiper before congress hall took over and jacked up the rental rates but have now been staying at the summer station and we absolutely love the place. The rooms are clean and most have been recently updated. Pool area is great and have never had a problem with the mgmt. Close walk to the wash sq mall but still very quiet. Plan on staying here for years to come.

As one of the previous reviewers mentioned, we also had ants for the entire weekend we stayed @ this condotel. In accordance with the previous reviewer, we were also met with indifference when mentioning it to the hotel staff. Needless to say, we wont be coming to this place again. My wife and I enjoy coming to Cape May for long weekends. We usually stay at the Sandpiper but they were booked so we took the chance on Summer Station as they claimed to offer many of the same ammenities. It truly is sad when hotel staff and/or hotel owners have indifferent attitudes when it comes to customer and guest satisfaction.

Just got back from a long weekend at Summer Station and I have to say not a thing to complain about. We've stayed here before but it has been about five years since we stayed. I was a little worried about one or two of the reviews but everything went very well. Our unit was an oceanview pool front that seems to have been recently updated. It has nice kichen updates including a granite counter top (I also appreciated the icemaker in the freezer - not just ice cube trays). The LR furniture was plush and seemed in fairly new shape.

This was a 2 BR, one bath and was more than enough room for four adults. It is also great having the washer/dryer right in the room. All of the staff from check-in to check-out were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back in the future.

We have been coming to Cape May for the past 10 years and every year we stay at Summer Station. Sadly, for them and for us we no longer will be booking with them for our weekly vacation. New owners are in place and really dont seem to care about customer service or guest satisfaction. We booked an ocean front suite for the very first time (but only because we were told that our regular room -- that we have been reserving for the past 10 years at the same time every year -- had already been booked). At the time of our booking, we were told that the ocean front suite was the same size as our regular room on the second floor facing the pool. LIE! It was barely half the size of our normal suite with only one couch and one chair. Our normal suite was equipped with a couch, love seat and 2 chairs. In addition, the dining table was only half the size that we normally see. Upon arrival, the air conditioning wasnt working properly so I promptly contacted the front desk. A maintenance employee told us nothing was wrong with the air conditioning and gave us a box fan and told us it was "the best youre going to get". Upon further complaints an electrician showed up to our suite and again told us there was nothing he could do as the air conditioning unit in our suite was antiquated and didnt have enough power to cool the living room, and kitchen. After being told by the extremely rude woman at the front desk that they had no other vacancies we decided to tough it out and hope for the best. Thats when we opened the cabinets to put away our food and found ants. LOTS of ants. After going back to the office to complain yet again, we were given a can of bug spray and sent on our way. On our second day, after complaining again about the ants who infested our food as well as dishes, glasses and silverware, we were told that an exterminator would be out to spray. The exterminator turned out to be the same maintenance employee as the day before who took an identical can of bug spray that we were given and sprayed our room. Oh, did I happen to mention the cleaning ladies who didnt clean? While there (FOR A WEEK) they never vacuumed nor cleaned the kitchen or bathroom floors. You ask how I could know this, and Ill tell you. After 6 days of seeing the same piece of popcorn sitting in the same location on the living room floor, you begin to get the idea that no one is taking care of your suite for you. It became a game of sorts, to bet on when and if the popcorn would ever get picked up by the maids. Guess what? It never did. The bathroom floor was constantly covered in sand -- even when we didnt go to the beach! As for the kitchen floor, I spilled water on it and when i wiped it up with a paper towel, the towel came away filthy dirty! The only thing they did was put new towels in the bathroom and pull up the covers (for 3 days straight they didnt even bother to pull up the sheets just the top quilt). When checking out I asked to speak to the manager/owner. I told him of our horrific and disgusting and unsanitary stay at his newly acquired hotel. I asked him how we was going to compensate me for living with ants and a blazing hot living room and kitchen. His response was "Im not going to compensate you". He then said that ALL of Cape May has ants and theres nothing he can do about it. I advised him that we had coming there for 10 years and NEVER had these kinds of problems before and that the former owners would never have allowed it. His response was a shrug of his shoulders and a look of utter disinterest. When I advised him that not only would I be contacting the Cape May Chamber of Commerce as well as the NJ Better Business Bureau but the NJ Board of Health I again received a shrug of his shoulders and a look of indifference. To sum it up...we will never be staying at Summer Station again. And, because our ocean view room was on the first floor (the only view we had was of the street) we spoke to alot of fellow vacationers who walked past and asked if we liked where we were staying. We told everyone that asked how disgusting and unsanitary our stay was. My only hope is that they tell all of their friends as well.

I have stayed in Cape May with and without our children on about 4 occasions over the past few years. Each time we were very disappointed with the hotels. The Summer Station Condotel was such a pleasant change for us. The rooms are a nice size, except the bathroom which is average. Everything was very clean! We had an ocean view, and it was worth the extra $15 or $20 we paid a night for it. The kitchen had just what we needed to have breakfast home, much easier with the kids. The staff was great, they were pleasant and helped us with our bags. The pool is a nice size and wasn't crowded.

I'm thrilled that we found a place we like and we will definitely go back on our next visit.

We stayed at the Summer Station for the 1st time in June 08. I had no expections because we have stayed at several motel/efficiency type properties in Cape May and have have not been completely pleased with the accomodations. The pictures on the website were fine enough but when we got there, our unit was completely refurbished. Everything was new and the unit was spacious and clean. Even though we did eat out some nights, there was absolutely no reason to because everything you need could be prepared in the room(full sized fridge, oven, microwave in kitchen). It was great having separated sleeping and "common" area. The location is just a short walk from everything and the beach is right across the road. The staff was very nice and friendly. The only negative was the 1bdrm and 1 den unit we had (basically a 2 bdrm unit) only has 1 bed per room. For my party size, 2 beds in each room would be more suitable but you can get a comfortable enough cot for additional $10/nite. We think this is "our place" to keep coming back to!

We really loved the Summer Station. The location is great-right across the street from the beach! We had a suite that looked right out onto the ocean which was beautiful. It is also near the many restaurants and shops in Cape May. The suite was so spacious. It included a living room, full kitchen, two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with two twins), and a bathroom. The room also had a balcony which was a good size and had two chairs. It was a nice place to hang out. The suite seemed to have been recently redone with new carpet. The one complaint we had is that the beds were really uncomfortable. We did not sleep well at all the first night. We bought an egg crate for the second night which definately helped. So beware that if you are looking for really comfortable beds, this place does not have them! Since we visited in the off season, it was nice and quiet. I can only imagine how busy this place must be in the summer! Overall, we really did love our visit here and would stay here again (with an egg crate of course!)
