Description: "The Nail," as it's known by the locals, is the famed iconic surfer bar and restaurant that made a name for itself in the '70s. And it's right here at the Beach Shack, just steps away from your room. From lifeguards and surfers to beautiful beach bunnies, they all gathered around the wood bar that was rumored to be the longest in all of Cape May. Now it's your turn to join in the fun for breakfast, lunch, dinner or its famed happy hour. Kids' meals are served on a souvenir Beach Shack Frisbee, giving you a fun after-dinner activity. Indoor spaces spill into outdoor seating, sand bar, fire pit and shuffleboard. Young, old and even four-legged friends are invited in from the beach for live entertainment and Rusty Nail's beach blanket comfort food that can also be wrapped to go.

Good drinks, exellent fish tacos & hamburgers. You can eat inside or on the patio or at the bar. The wait-staff is friendly & helpfull in their knowledge of the menu.

My husband and I have eaten here for breakfast and dinner on a few occasions. It's about time to write a review. You have your choice of eating inside, outside under umbrellas at picnic tables or next to the bar which has a covered roof. The breakfast sandwiches are great. My husband likes their crab cake benedict. Me too. We ate dinner there with my sister, brother -in law, their son and his girlfriend. Most of us had ribs, fall off the bone to die for ribs with excellent cornbread and coleslaw. Everyone was happy with the food. The waitresses are so nice! They serve their beer in an icy mug. On the weekend, they have live music from 4:30-10:00. Great easy listening music. You can also sit at the fire pit and order food and drinks. That area has a sandy little beach and flowers. Cute set up.

This is a perfect place to grab some food & drinks at the beach. And if you want to just take a break from the beach & sit in some shade with the wind blowing, this is definitley the place. Great outdoor seating & great drinks. Overall fun time!

My wife and I did not go here to eat so I can't review there food. It was supposed to be this big end of the summer bash but it was more like a bust in my opinion of party like attmospheres. The band was really good but there was alot of poeple just milling around looking lost like we were. The fire pit was nice but was packed 3 people deep around it and those people weren't moving so getting to it was impossible. Maybe it is more hoppin earlyer in the summer but the end of summer "bash" was a little weak. I will give it a try again when we go down again. So we'll see.

It was a chilly night and a bowl of soup sounded like a good idea. The crock of clam chowder was creamy and delicious and a nice portion, too. I ordered the fajitas with a chili-type blend on top delicious, but enough for 2 people. My date ordered the fried flounder sandwich and he said it was really delicious.
