I had grilled chicken caesar salad- two times while on my stay. It was great each time!! Also had seafood bisque soup- really good!
Then had breakfast before we left Cape May- the breakfast sandwiches were delicious, hot and freshly made to order. The portions are good size and their food is fresh.

The Depot Market Café is not located on Beach Ave, not in the Washington St Mall, not in the Acme shopping center across the street, not on Broadway in West Cape May. As a matter of fact, if you don’t know where it is, you may never come across it.

However, that didn’t seem to be an issue for the many pick up orders taking place during my visit which was a mid-afternoon lunch. Just about everyone who came in to pick up their order seemed to be on a first name basis with the hostess. Take-out seems to be preferred here. There are about a half dozen tables inside and a couple of tables outside. So, not much dining atmosphere to speak of. But, the locals are definitely on to this place.

I honestly have to say, based solely upon the menu, it would not be out of place to see this restaurant on the Wildwood boardwalk. It’s just like being at a boardwalk pizza restaurant but without the pizza. There is no shortage of sandwiches on this menu.

So how was the meal? I’m just going to reiterate that there were many take-out orders going on during the middle of the afternoon. That should say a lot.

The service was quick and friendly. The chef was quick. There were no problems to speak of. I would suggest trying the Depot at least once (if you can find it) and make up your own mind. (You should know where that is).

We recently purchased a summer home in Cape May and I stumbled upon this place after leaving the Hardware store. The owners are so friendly and pleasant. She knows who I am by what I always order- Tuna on a toasted bagel and a Yoohoo! LOL Excellent tuna very fresh and tasty. Seasoned perfectly and great on a lightly toasted bagel with a smear of mayo. Always go back!
