Reservations! food is good, price is also very good. Service people move quickly, even with a big "party/multi-generational family" in the big room.

only negative is not attached to the dining experience, there is a "shop" in the lobby of the hotel, sells necklaces, bracelets, and other nice little things. The person (hotel person?) behind the register/phones has a bit of a nasty edge, IF i had found something i had liked, i doubt i would have bought it. Made a comment that the room had been rearranged since last summer, and was wondering where certain items were, her comment was not exactly helpful beyond "yeah we moved things, " This might color our plan for next summer. (this may not impact anything, but if one family stops, then there might be someone else too!

Aleathea's is a restaurant in the Inn of Cape May, a beautiful property with lovely ocean views. We ate right 5 as some in our party of 10 were leaving town after dinner. The good part of this is that we were able to select off the early bird special menu, which included salad or soup, entrée and dessert and a glass of wine or tomato juice (a bit strange I thought). They were very flexible with sharing. For example, 2 of the adults ordering off this menu did not want either the wine or the tomato juice, but the waitress still brought out their glasses of wine and gave them to the other adults. The same happened with the desserts. The service was good and our waitress was excellent, but the food was just average and unforgettable. With so many great restaurants to choose from in Cape May, I think I'll go somewhere else next time.

We enjoyed a special here - a caprese salad topped with lobster and crabmeat sauteed in garlic and wine. fabulous combination with lots of seafood, and didn't break the bank.
I know it is hard to keep windows clean near the shore, but with such a great location a little effort would really pay off.

What a surprise! We had not been here in years. They have an early bird menu that comes with excellent food; a salad or soup, entree, dessert, and even a glass of wine! Also, we got there early and got free parking in their lot. They have a lovely ocean view. Our server, Ryan, was lovely. We both chose the early bird grouper. It was better than other much higher priced restaurants. The salads we chose were fresh and excellent. The desserts we chose were coconut cake and strawberry cake. Yum! We will be putting this place on our favorites list.

We tried this restaurant after reading many great reviews on Trip Advisor. The view is pretty and the food delicious and prices reasonable. Our waitress was knowledgeable, funny and an overall lovely person who made great suggestions. She made up for the crankiness and irritation of the hostess, who is also the owner. When we when we phoned to say we were running late for our 8:30 reservations, she told us the chef would not keep the kitchen open until 9. She was also clearly irritated that we wanted to sit by a window, rather than at a table that was already set near her hostess station. I would return, but only because I can deal with the crankiness of the owner.
