“You have to go!!!!”
Reviewed July 31, 2009

We're just back from a family vaca in CM. We ate at the Mad Batter one day for breakfast..we had french toast and pancakes...the best ever..so good we went back the following morning and enjoyed Eggs and Omelets. The atmosphere was casual and very family friendly. The food was wonderful and service was fast. Be prepared to wait for a table as the place is really popular and rightly so. It is worth the wait. You have to go!!

“Must try their Crab Cake”
Reviewed July 25, 2009

If you are a crab cake lover, then you must try Mad Batter's Crab Cake with whole grain mustard sauce. We had them 2 years ago when we visited Cape May the first time and this is one item that is definitely on our agenda when we going back to Cape May this coming Fall. Their Crab cake is not greasy nor heavy, with lumps of crab and a wonderful sauce to go with it.

“Loved the french toast”
Reviewed July 25, 2009

The french Toast was great. Alittle pricey...but worth the splurge once during your stay in Cape May. Nice to have have breakfast on the porch outside.

“hope it was just a bad day”
Reviewed July 5, 2009

We usually count our Mad Batter breakfast as one of the highlights of out extended families annual Cape May vacation. This year was different. My son had a filthy glass, some of the silverware was dirty, the food was just okay and the 3 out of 10 of us that ate blueberry pancakes for breakfast spent the rest of the day being quite ill with severe stomach problems. We usually do the Mad Batter twice, once being on our way our of town from our weekly rental. This year we tried the new breakfast a Mangia Mangia (which was fabulous) because we were too scared to go back. Maybe we'll try again next year, but be warned.

“This Restaurant really made My vacation!”
Reviewed June 9, 2009

The last day of vacation this past weekend and we walked down to the Mad Batter for breakfast. I had read reviews and was sure we would have a long wait to eat here. Well - we were seated right away - and in the back in the garden! It was a gorgeous room opening up to a garden - and it was just special. (they also have a front porch and a nice size interior with bar)

As it was a girls weekend - two of us ordered champagne and the other girl ordered a bloody mary. The champagne came with strawberries - just beautiful! Then one of us ordered a sticky bun for the table - which was huge and delicious. We all ordered the Country Breakfast - just in different styles of eggs and meat - we all loved our meal, our waiter who was very attentive.

Overall - this restaurant was very special and it was the perfect way to end our little weekend getaway! I highly recommend and can't wait to go back!
