We usually count our Mad Batter breakfast as one of the highlights of out extended families annual Cape May vacation. This year was different. My son had a filthy glass, some of the silverware was dirty, the food was just okay and the 3 out of 10 of us that ate blueberry pancakes for breakfast spent the rest of the day being quite ill with severe stomach problems. We usually do the Mad Batter twice, once being on our way our of town from our weekly rental. This year we tried the new breakfast a Mangia Mangia (which was fabulous) because we were too scared to go back. Maybe we'll try again next year, but be warned.

The last day of vacation this past weekend and we walked down to the Mad Batter for breakfast. I had read reviews and was sure we would have a long wait to eat here. Well - we were seated right away - and in the back in the garden! It was a gorgeous room opening up to a garden - and it was just special. (they also have a front porch and a nice size interior with bar)

As it was a girls weekend - two of us ordered champagne and the other girl ordered a bloody mary. The champagne came with strawberries - just beautiful! Then one of us ordered a sticky bun for the table - which was huge and delicious. We all ordered the Country Breakfast - just in different styles of eggs and meat - we all loved our meal, our waiter who was very attentive.

Overall - this restaurant was very special and it was the perfect way to end our little weekend getaway! I highly recommend and can't wait to go back!

Ate here over Memorial Day weekend. Great location. We sat on the front porch overlooking Jackson Street, a very attractive street lined with well-restored Victorian buildings. This seems to be a very popular breakfast spot. There were quite a few people waiting for tables when we arrived, but we were seated in less than 5 minutes. The menu was varied, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Their signature bloody mary is made with pepper vodka and was an eye-opener. Coffee was refilled frequently.

This is simply a delightful dining experience. The staff treats you like a long lost friend and cater to your every whim. The atmosphere is whimsical and fun. We ate on the Sun Porch and at the Garden Terrace. The food is great..lots of different choices along with the old favorite ones. Parking is a bit of a stretch..but, hey, it is well worth it.
