Description: The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh. Executive Chef Jeremy Einhorn has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant! In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. The Blue Pig Tavern drives its name from a gambling parlor sited at Congress Hall in the mid 1800's. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.

One of the few places open in Cape May in January, the Blue Pig Tavern was recommended. We found the lunch menu interesting and our meal was delicious. The room was inviting and cozy with a fire in the fireplace. Everyone was very friendly. We ended up going back the next morning for breakfast, and found the breakfast menu slightly small but it had some interesting choices. We had a good meal once again.

Ate here twice on my last weekend in Cape May - once for dinner and once for breakfast. Servers from around the world are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. Menu is simple and fresh. A little expensive for what the items are, but good consistently good quality, good atmosphere.

Several of my cousins and I had a festive New Year's Eve dinner at the Blue Pig and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. We were treated well and had a great time. The menu wasn't all that extensive, but we all found something we liked and every dish was really good: fresh salads, pot pies, shepherds pie, steak, and scallops! It turned out to be a great choice for New Year's Eve since dinner was reasonable and on such a night, prices can be out of control.

Had plans cancel for Thanksgiving and had to book a last minute special holiday dinner. My husband made reservations for the Blue Pig Tavern in Cape May. I was not at all disappointed. They had the usual Thanksgiving fare as well as other shore specialties. I was so glad we ventured there for our holiday. They also had live music in each room of the restaurant. It was a memorable holiday.

Outstanding variety of options for breakfast and even for lunch, but dinner is pretty much standard and somewhat limited. There are much better restaurant options for dinner in Cape May.
