Description: The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh. Executive Chef Jeremy Einhorn has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant! In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. The Blue Pig Tavern drives its name from a gambling parlor sited at Congress Hall in the mid 1800's. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.

Second visit to this restaurant. The food is very good, but it is definitely overpriced. Not sure if I would go back again.

This place in Congress Hall is neat looking. Tables look out into the new court yard. The food was good. Had the Ruben and it had good flavor. And the size was right; nottoo big or small. And with the fries, could not be beat. And afterwards it is a short black form the Washington Mall for shopping and ice cream.

Went here during Restaurant Week. The Restaurant week menu selection was quite small compaired to other restaurants. I ended up getting the blue plate special, which was a better deal than the $35:00 restaurant week menu. I got Lamb stew, Prime rib with taters and veggies and cocanut custard pie, all for $27:00. The Prime rib was very tender with very little fat.
If this was suspose to represent a tavern, they have some odd ideas as to what colors a tavern is suspose to be painted.
The tavern smelled strongly of wood smoke although we did not see any fireplaces being used. It was so overpowering you could not smell your food.

The food was great for both breakfast and dinner. I hold back on saying great service because we were waiting quite a while at breakfast one day for 1. our menus and 2. coffee. Other than that, great place to eat.

I worked here years ago and went through an intense long training process on customer service.

We went here for breakfast last week. The hostesses were very kind and attentive. The servers and expeditors on the other hand weren't. The manager was busy standing in a corner near a stair case talking to two other workers about nothing that had to do with hotel or restaurant which I found to be holding up customer service as 20 - 30 minutes go by and no server , no coffee, nothing. The server finally comes over and takes our drink order and doesn't return for about 5 minutes the restaurant wasn't crowded at all.he took our order brought out the wrong food.
I had asked the expeditor when he served us for a side plate and he never returned with the plate. When the server came I asked him for a side plate and he did return quickly. The food was great. Our server seemed to be trying his best which we appreciated. They all seemed to be very distracted from doing their jobs which made us feel not so important.

We will be back for breakfast maybe some changes and training in the food service and management have to made, I also had a similar experience at the "sister" hotel/restaurant. Only with the food staff I have had these experiences with. The rest of the hotel (front desk, store workers, hostesses & bar staff are great
