Description: The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh. Executive Chef Jeremy Einhorn has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant! In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. The Blue Pig Tavern drives its name from a gambling parlor sited at Congress Hall in the mid 1800's. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.

We always enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Blue Pig in Congress Hall. It was pretty noisy yesterday (Easter Sunday) with a lot of families with kids but that is to be expected on a holiday. They had a buffet which was good by not as good as their regular menus. Like their meat loaf. Homey type food. Fireplace is nice in colder weather.

Small portions and average breakfast food. Food was not very hot. Pancakes were a little larger than silver dollar pancakes. From previous reviews, it must be better at dinner time!

“Blue Pig Tavern @ Congress Hall”

Visited this resturant twice now and disappointed both times. Breakfast was cold and overly salty. Server forgot one side dish and did our check incorrectly with additional orders that we didn't order. Good thing it's part of the Hotel and has guaranteed customers

We went in to dine after 6 and couldn't see the menu - no overhead lights (or any to speak of) only small candle on table; had to get a flashlight to order. Food was OK but the servers were very nice and helpful.

We got a deal on Congress Hall followed by a deal on drinks in Brown Tavern and dinner in Blue Pig. The Brown Tavern was lovely. The Blue Pig was loud and cold. If you were right in front of the fireplace it may have been warm. Lucky that it was a deal as the Strip steak we had was very tough and crab cake just okay (I make much better ones). If we had been paying full price, this entree was $36 with no salad. In my opinion not worth it. We had a great steak in Mad Batter in October at a much lower cost. We would definitely stay at Congress Hall again, but there are better places to eat in Cape May.
