Description: In the Spring of 1988 on the corner of Pacific and Spencer in Wildwood New Jersey, Letitia Negro opened a ten table restaurant known for "Home Cooking". The $9.95 three course price fix menu featured family favorites and "Made from the heart" cuisine. The food, like its Restaurant School graduate chef/owner, was genuine, unique and unforgettable. The end of Tisha's Home Cooking came early in the 1990's, but in turn became the beginning of Tisha's Fine Dining in Cape May. In 1995, Paul Negro, son of Letitia, and his wife Jennifer continued the tradition here in Cape May. Paul took what he learned from his mother, added his own talent and love for food, and established a great following. Some things have changed in the city and the restaurant has now moved from the solarium building on the beach to its new home on the Washington Street Mall. No matter where they are Paul and Jennifer will proudly continue the tradition of love and passion for food and people in honor of Tisha, an amazing friend, mother and chef.

“seating problem, service issues”
Reviewed September 2, 2006

We tried to book a table for 9 people a month in advance but Tisha could only do a table for 5 and a table for 4, nowhere near each other. So far, so good. But then one of the tables included a very confined, uncomfortable seat. It was a very hot night, no air conditioning, and very buggy, which did not help. The service was slow, slow, slow. Then, when we finally did escape, there was an 18% fixed service charge for parties of 6 or more people, and we were CHARGED for this even though we were a party of 5 and a party of 4 and had two far-apart tables, slow service, and very expensively priced food orders. Go figure! Food was ok but only in comparison to modest Cape May standards.

Owning a very small restaurant ,16 tables indoor tables to be exact, can be somewhat of a challenge at times especially with large parties. When a large party does make a reservation and a large table is NOT available, some customers will request two seperate tables at which time we let them know they may NOT be seated close to each other. When the customer AGREES with this policy the reservation is accepted. Sometimes customers can choose to wait a small period of time after there scheduled reservations to be seated much closer to each other. When you are aware of such policies as this and you aware we do NOT have air conditioning and you are aware we are a beautiful OPEN AIR restaurant(one of our biggest draws) there are things you must come to expect.

“Not the Best Choice in a City full of Fine Dining”
Reviewed August 28, 2006

Service is mediocre - hard to get a server when you need one. Our entrees were excellent, but they followed salads that were awful. The lettuce tasted like it had been out in the sun all day. Server was disinterested when we complained. The ambiance is very nice; however, with all the fabulous choices in Cape May, I say choose elsewhere!

“Attentive Service/Skilled Preparation”
Reviewed August 15, 2006

Call ahead for reservations (time you visit for just before sunset and take sunglasses), ask for patio seating and you will have the recipe for a wonderful dining experience. The service was attentive without being overbearing, the food (we both enjoyed seafood dishes) was prepared perfectly and the setting...enchantingly romantic. If you plan only one fine dining experience while in Cape May this must be it!

“Great Food - 'Crabby' Hostess”
Reviewed August 13, 2006

We enjoyed every bite of our food here. Out server was competent and friendly. Hostess seemed annoyed when we kindly asked if there was another table available. If you make reservations online, don't bother filling out the "special requests" box because it won't be honored.

“Gorgeous View”
Reviewed July 24, 2006

The food at this restaurant is incredible. The view is outstanding and the location is perfect. I would highly recommend a reservation as they are always very busy. Sunsets are beautiful and don't forget to bring your own as they do not have a liquor license.
