“Great Place to stay in Cape May”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2009

The Camelot is a great place to stay in Cape May. It is clean and the staff are very friendly. It is close enough in walking distance to the Washington Street Mall so you can park your car at the motel and not have to worry where you are going to park. It is a great view of the ocean.

From the my first call to the Camelot to checkout, every thing was "just right." The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. The 2-room efficiency was clean, neat, updated, and had everything we needed. The window & balcony view of the ocean was magnificient. The view out of the back of the efficiency wasn't bad either! Our stay was perfect. We loved the afforablity and location of this motel. Given our interests, it could not have been better. We re-booked at check-out. The Camelot certainly has our vote of confidence and appreciation.

From the moment we checked in to the moment we left, my family and I were treated like old friends by the hotel staff. The room was clean and everything was in good order, air conditioner worked well during the hot day and we especially appreciated the fridge and microwave for left-overs.

The hotel also has two brand-new gas grills on the property and we saved a ton of money buying food and cooking it on the grill. Everyone in my family enjoyed the steak and shrimp with a nice char broil on it from the grill and it was a quarter of the price it would be in the restaurants. When we did hit the local eateries (there are so many great choices), we inevitably had leftovers that we could reheat the next day in the microwave for lunch.

Perfect location- literally steps from the beach, arcade, miniature golf, a couple restaurants, a movie theatre, a bunch of gift shops, Rita's and two candy shops. One poster said the location was not ideal and that is laughable. Check out the pictures I'm posting with this review and you'll see what I mean.

My family has been staying at the Camelot for years, as part of a large extended family group. We have seen the Camelot improve each year. The current management and staff has been great. The location for us is great, for the beach, for the mall and everything in between. A great pool too, a nice break from the beach. Would recommend as long as you don't take our room away from us. Oh, two outdoor grills now available.

We arrived at the motel a little early, but our room was ready and we were givien a key and a parking pass, and told to have a good time. Not a bad way to start a vacation.

The rooms are basic, but very clean, they really keep the place in tip top shape. The pool is cleaned nightly, the trash bins were never overflowing, and the grounds were immaculate.

There were 7 of us, all together. One family with small children, and the rest of us, child-less folk. We were all very happy with the entire stay. I really liked having chairs and tables outside the rooms so you could sit outside at night with a cocktail and enjoy the company of friends.

The pool is a little small, but well maintained. There is a fenced in area for very small children, which we quickly nicknamed the jail. The rest of the pool goes from 3 feet to 8 feet, and has those foam noodles for everyone to play with or use as flotation devices.

We enjoyed every aspect of our trip, and were really happy with the location. We were a block and a half from the beach, a few blocks from the shopping area, and there were many restaurants, and ince cream stores within walking distance as well.

I would recommend this place to anyone, as it was a big hit with the family in the group and the singles.

When we return to Cape May, we will be returning to the Camelot Motel!

We stayed at the Camelot for a week and the location was fabulous with ocean views, minature golf right at your doorstep and shops and restaurants within walking distance. Sheri and her staff was wonderful....as she put it, "she had me at hello." She was always in the office if you needed anything and always greeted you with a big warm smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable and very family oriented. We would highly recommend the Camelot....see you soon Sheri!!!!

We just stayed at the Camelot for the weekend. The location is great - 1/2 block away from the beach and very close to stores and restaurants. We walked everywhere. It was basically just a bed (a very uncomfortable one - they need new mattresses) but for a weekend it was fine. The rooms are very outdated - the bathroom door was broken - but you are not in your room for a long time. The pool is very small but for a weekend this is a fine place to stay. Ask for a room on the 3rd or 4th floor - they have an elevator - you have a direct view to the ocean from these floors.
