Owner description: We are a horse-drawn carriage company. We provide guided tours through Historic district of Cape May.We would like to fully explain why we do not accept credit cards. We are located at the corner of Ocean and Washington St. we have a small unprotected mobile table that has no power,no phone and no protection from the weather. We cannot get a phone jack which is needed to take credit cards because we do not have a store front.Cape May is an island with terrible satellite and cell reception therefore the mobile credit card devices also do not help us.There are other very expensive mobile devices that are weather sensitive and do to the fact that we have no protection from the elements ,that is not an option either. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to some .There is an ATM located directly behind where we are parked. We hope that you enjoy the horse and carriages and the joy, and beauty they bring to the hundreds of people who ride each year.

The Thanksgiving tour was good for a romantic exploration. The drivers were too robotic I would prefer they just stayed quiet. Seemed everything came from the Cape May history book. The lighting and decoration of the cottages were beautiful.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review.Bit confused about the robotic drivers. It is a historical tour and the facts DO come from Cape May history books. But we don't have specific Thanksgiving tours and our carriages are not lit up.If this review is for us,I'm sorry the drivers didn't make it more exciting.Usually when you get two drivers it means one is in training and it's usually a lively tour.Next time let us know, this is info we need.I love that you gave us 5 stars, next time you are here ask for me and we'll talk about a new ride for you.

“So much fun”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

We did this while in Cape May for a brief stay. It was a lot of fun. Try to do the nighttime ghost one, if you can... its really interesting, and there's a lot of history along with the "fun" of the spookiness of it. It's a little expensive, but really worth the money.

Thanks for the 5 stars and so glad you enjoyed your trip. The ghost tour is a hoot and the drivers that tell those stories have fun adding info every year.Fall is a great time to visit Cape May and I'm thrilled you chose to make us a part of it.

“Life Time County resident takes a ride...”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

I have lived in cape May County my entire life. I have always loved Cape May and was very interested in all the history this beautiful town has to offer. Our family decided to take a Carriage ride with the Cape May Carriage Co. Our driver, Anna, impressed me from the get go, with the love and care she showed her horse, while giving the horse a well deserved rest on a warm day. Neither she or her boss was in any rush to get the carriage back on the road as Anna took excellent care of her horse, provided him with a large, fresh bucket of cold water, some snacks and a big hug and lots of love while he was at rest. This was certainly an excellent experience for me as a horse lover and a history buff! Thank-you Cape May Carriage Company and Anna, for showing me that working horses are truly loved!

Thanks for your review.Anna is one of our favorite drivers BUT I hope she wasn't sneaking her horse a snack. We don't allow anyone to feed the horses while they are working. It's too easy to teach them that a human arm equals food.We love our big guys but don't want them grabbing bags or purses.LOL.Please come back and take a Christmas ride it was a joy having you.

“Your trip to Cape May is not complete without a carriage tour”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

We have taken this tour about 10 times in the past 5 years. The prices are very reasonable in fact they never go up. The tour guides are very knowledgeable on Cape May history. You can't go wrong with this tour.
