“Very Good with Growing Pains”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We visited the winery last weekend, and really enjoyed the ambiance, the staff were great, and we really enjoyed the wines. We did visit before their official opening, so I hope they work some of the kinks out by then. First, a word of advice if you choose to ride bikes there, their long, long driveway is all stones, so be prepared for bumps and cars kicking up dust as they pass by. There are no bike racks, so no place to lock your bike up to.
When you arrive, you choose one of two wine tasting choices, pay in advance and get coupons for your tasting. Then they walk you in, give you a mini tour, and set you up at the bar with a pourer. When we arrived we went right up to the bar, but other folks after us were told to sit on one of the many leather couches there, and they were unsure what they were waiting for. Some sat for more than 30 minutes, but had already paid so they couldn't leave. Had that happened to us we would have requested a refund and left, but we were lucky, had a good experience and bought a few bottles of wine. They have great plans for an outside fire pit and a dog park, but first things first, don't make folks wait for a tasting, as our pourer only had 2 people to wait on for a good 10 minute time frame.. I will visit again after their grand opening, but I would rather the bar be a few people deep, than be told to sit and not sure why.

“Very Nice Winery - fabulous way to end a beautiful afternoon”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

What a pleasant distraction! We spent the day working on the house and decided, on a whim, to check out this winery. Now this is my kind of place. The setting was welcoming as we made our way down the long driveway, passing the chickens and turkeys and the recently pruned, meticulous, vines. We were greeted with a smile as we entered the spacious, sunny, homey building. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We relaxed in the comfy couches as we waited for our tasting. Our host, Stacey, made our experience extra special. We really enjoyed her stories and explanations during the tasting - very informative and FUN! We will definitely be visiting again and again (especially to refill my Sangria growler). Thank you for a fabulous ending to a really nice afternoon down the shore!!

“Top 5 winerys in the US.”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Awesome place bottom line upfront! From the time we drove up we knew this place was something special. As a person who lives in Europe and has been to wineries in Italy, France, and abroad I can say that this place had a great atmosphere. We were treated to some awesome local breads to start off and when we got to the bar area Brian took care of us. His expertise was that of a person close to a sommelier. Even though they are a very new place and their vintage is not old at all, I can say that they made up for it in every category. They even had a white sangria which was out of this world and this is coming from a person who despises the whites. We walked out with a jug and several bottles of the vino. A very high recommendation for those who are looking for some fun in southern jersey. Ask for a tasting with Brian and you won't be disappointed!!

“Best winery tour and tasting ever!”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

Just came back from Cape May. Stayed at the Southern Mansion and toured this winery as part of our stay. Kevin gave the tour. I wish I had a notebook to record all the information we received from him about wine growing, wine making, and of course wine tasting and pairing. We bought a case of wine including the sangria growler - awesome! And we can refill it this summer! You can adopt a vine and follow it through by taking classes. Kevin's passion is so evident and he is always looking for ways to sustain agriculture and nature in the area. Don't forget to see the luxury hen house! Can't wait to go back this summer. Thanks, Kevin!

“They need to get it together”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

The place is huge and yet the bar takes up only one small corner of the room. We had to wait to participate in a tasting.

Hopefully over time, they will add some of the warmth and charm that we experienced at the Cape May WInery. The person who poured for us never stopped chattering and it was all about her. She was just trying too hard. The wines were not memorable.
