Description: In the heart of the Historic District, Frescos occupies an 1880 Victorian cottage. On the candlelit veranda, or in the coolness of the Mediteranean inspired dining rooms, you imagine yourself at a small trattoria in Tuscany, or sampling the finest of local seafood at a Mediterranean cafe. From the seafood and homemade pastas of the South to the elegant sauces, meats, and veal of the North, Frescos is a culinary adventure tour of Italy. Frescos' award-winning young Chef Joseph Badger takes as his palette the incredible variety of fresh local seafood, and bountiful local produce, bringing a richness and creativity to the menu-- a dazzling display of shrimp, lobster, seafoods and pastas, and desserts that make guests exclaim with delight. One of ZAGAT'S "Top Italian Restaurants in America," and Voted "Best Italian Restaurant in Southern New Jersey 2012," by NJ Monthly.

We had dinner recently at this restaurant and were very disappointed. The pear salad had no pears to start with. I asked if a pasta dish could be made without garlic and was told 'no', the description of the sauce on the menu made no mention of garlic. I then asked if any of the pasta sauces could elimate garlic and was again told 'no', the chef does not make any changes/modification to the menu. My husband also asked to have a different sauce ( that was on the menu) on the penne pasta and was also told 'no', no substitution to the menu. I feel the requests that were made we're not unreasonable and could not have been easily accommodated in the kitchen. We will not be back and will not be recommending Fresco' to friends who visit Cape May. There are too many wonderful restaurants to visit.

We wasted our time and money at this place. Food was something you would expect to get at a chain restaurant. Salmon special was loaded with lemon and sat on a bed of mushy risotto. Sauce on the shrimp dish was so sweet, it could have been dessert.
Not a good experience, and wasted one of the few nights we had in Cape May. Too many other good restaurants to go to in the area.

We had reservations for 410 next door but had been there and decided to try Frescos, what a mistake. For starters, there was a skunk out front while we waited 15-20 minutes for our reservation. The front staff didn't seem to be concerned, we were. Our appetizer (fried olives) came out quickly and were just ok. 1 hour and 5 minutes later our meals came out. No apologies until we asked to speak to the manager Jodi came over and told us the kitchen was backed up ( really???) and our dinner will be out in 5 minutes and he said he will "take care of us". Meanwhile the two tables that came in after us had their meals. Taking care didnt happen at all, no offering of on the house coffee, or desserts, or a discount on our bill-really poor customer experience management. 3 of our 4 meals were good, the 4th was horrible. We felt like we were at Applebee's, very disappointed. We won't be back.

We have been coming to Cape May for 6 years now and Fresco's is a place we try to love. We made our reservations in the afternoon, but three hours later they had no record. Not that it was a problem, plenty of seating in the off season. The Manager was very nice and attentive and sat us right away. It is a lovely restaurant, just off the beaten path, so easy to walk to if you are in the heart of the town. We had a delicious fried Goat Cheese appetizer with caramelized onions. The Pear and Mediterranean salads, both on the menu are very well done, fresh and a perfect size before dinner. For those with a small appetite, I would recommend an appetizer for your dinner, I had the Lobster Ravioli. It was a perfectly done dish. The meals are a good size and the Rigatoni with sausage was also exceptional. We told our waitress that we were going to take our time with dinner, but that didn’t mean that we should be ignored. We had to ask for bread, even after she asked us if we wanted some, I had to ask for water twice and our candle on our table went out and was not replaced. Our waitress only provided half the desert menu, since we listened to Rose give the next table the entire list, in great detail. Out dining experience would have been different if we had Rose as our waitress. Still believe it is worth it, but ask for Rose.

Went to have an excellent dinner, and was not disappointed. Had very good seafood dish, wife had excellent seafood also. Service was very good. After dinner, we passed by the theater, and decided to see the show (God of Carnage). Found out that you received discounted tickets through Fresco's. Went back to Fresco's, and the manager/owner was extremely helpful in getting us the discounts despite the fact we didn't follow the process properly.
