My husband and I attended a veterans' reunion at the Coast Guard base in Cape May in Oct. 2012 and chose site A11 as our base camp. I read reviews about how clean everything was during the summer season which isn't easy since this is a big campground. They don't slack off in the cleanliness dept. in the fall either. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were a lot of other campers but it was not crowded at all. Really can't say anything about the pool or lake because of the season but I could tell that the lake is better maintained than others I've seen at other campgrounds. Sorry to have read about them charging for showers in the reviews but they probably do it for water conservation purposes because water use in the summer I bet is really high. We showered in our trailer - no problem for us. I also noticed a lot of seasonal sites which usually tells me that people like this campground. One point - the campground layout is quite curvy with a lot of shade trees which is exactly what you'd want in a summer camping experience. If you have a big rig or are not very experienced yet (not our problem - we have 20+ years camping) you may want to walk your route in first so you know where you're going and where the trees are. The roads are narrow mostly with trees very close on the sides. One last thing, the mgmt. handed out a campground map and rules and a local map on the back - very good idea. The rules are straightforward and written in English and French for the Canadian visitors that like to frequent this area. It's curious that the English side had more rules listed than the French side. Sure wish I could read French to see the differences. That's just a comment though not a criticism. Overall, we had a lovely stay and will camp there again when in the area.

This campground is as thoughtfully planned, constructed and maintained as any I have visited. My wife and I were here the nights of September 21-22, 2012 as part of a Winnebago/Itasca motorhome group. We had a full hook-up, shaded site on the main thoroughfare entering the campgrounds, which was surprisingly quiet despite its location.

Check-in parking in front of their main building will accommodate the largest RVs. It's obvious that the owners put a lot of thought and effort in the construction and layout of this facility and its maintenance. The check-in counter resembles one in a well-run hotel. Their modern, well-stocked camp store offers not only groceries, RV/camping accessories and supplies but fast-food and ice cream in their snack bar as well. Paved roads and paved campsites throughout the campgrounds were clean and well maintained. Although their lake area and beach were closed, their heated swimming pool sparkled and was clearly being enjoyed even this late in the season.

Their sheltered pavilian is perfect for outdoor group meetings. There is also an indoor meeting room and well-equipped but somewhat dated game room. The laundry facilities were clean, well-equipped and modern. Cable TV is offered but requires a $50 refundable cash deposit for a converter box and remote control but offers no non-commercial movie channels. Our satellite antenna would not have worked because of the shade. Traveling in a motor home, we use our own bath facilities, but I checked out the showers and restrooms and they were clean and easily accessible.

Just a short drive from Cape May beaches, the Cape May lighthouse and the Cape May/Lewes ferry, this campground is in a great location for vacation travelers. We enjoyed our visit.

We camped here with friends in our travel trailers for 4 nights. The place is clean and well kept. There are more updated bath houses on premises but we happened to be in an area that had an older one. It was dated but clean. We enjoyed the friendly staff and they will come pump you out for $5 (what a deal!) so you don't have to handle the black or grey water tanks. We can see where it is definitely kid friendly ... Also they have a large population of long term renters which speaks highly of the place. We left on Sunday and didn't realize that the office/store shuts down between 11an - noon for church service. We had used a cable box which was provided for a $50 cash deposit. We had to catch a noon ferry so we simply left the box with our deposit receipt (included name and address) at the guard shack. When I called on Monday morning they said no problem we will mail the deposit back. So all in all a nice run place...

Room Tip: We chose a electric/water site because the pump the grey & black water for $5. There are a lot more selections if you don't need sewer connections. The pull thrus are close together and not as nice in my opinion..

Great family CG very close to Cape May and Wildwood. We went with friends who found it and I usually review before I stay but never did but after reading the reviews. They are all on the money. This place is like a resort, vary large, pool plus swimming lake, huge store with a little snack shack that the kids loved for dogs, fries and ice cream. They had one of the better mini golf courses we have even seen at a CG plus their own indoor movie theater that showed a movie every night. There was activities all day long plus wagon rides. Most was paved so great for bike riding. There was many seasonal who seem to work there and lots of golf carts. All the staff seem friendly and they were constantly cleaning up plus 24x7 security guards. The bathroom was nice and laundry was clean too. The only part that we did not like is the 25 cents for a shower. It is a real pain to get to the shower to find out u need a quarter. No free WIFI either. Sites were decent sized depending on section. Would stay again.

We're new to camping (we have a travel trailer) and this is the 5th campsite we've been to. We visited it twice this year and plan to return. It's the nicest overall place we've stayed at and offers a great family atmosphere where kids can ride bikes safely on the street and play at the pool, lake or playgrounds. The Cape May and Wildwood beaches are of course big pluses. There are alot of people who have permanent sites and emit a good community feel also. It's quite at night and the facilities are clean. Some sites can be quite small so review park map carefully. We'd highly recommend it.
