“A beautiful B&B with wonderful owners.”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

We had a wonderful trip to Cape May. The Inn at the Park is a beautiful home. Mary Ann and Jay take tremendous pride in making sure you feel at home. All rooms have private baths and 2 rooms have private entrances. The rooms are nicely decorated and spotless. The breakfasts were great and the owners are friendly and courteous . The home is a short 10 minute walk to either the beach or the outdoor mall. We will certainly go back.

This bed and breakfast is great! The owners Jay and Mary Ann are warm and kind, the breakfasts are delicious, and our room was lovely--it had a huge, comfy bed and a nice, big bathroom. And I liked the location of the B and B, too: it was in a pretty, Victorian neighborhood that was only a 10-minute walk to the downtown, but it wasn't smack dab in the middle of the crowds. Overall, this was a great experience, and I hope to visit the Inn at the Park again soon!

Inn at the Park is a great place to stay for anyone is looking for a low key spot to relax and feel welcome. The Inn supplied all the needed items from parking, towel and chairs for the beach. Mary Ann and Jay were charming and the food...delicious! One could not have this experience in a hotel.

The Inn is situated a few blocks from the main beach drag of Cape May in the middle of town. This allowed it to be not only quiet, but central to shopping, the beach, and the many places to eat. I was unaware that parking meters are king in Cape May, so the on site parking and easy walk were welcome.

When we arrived, Jay guided us through making reservations for dinner for the nights we stayed. Advanced reservations are a must if visitors would like to eat before 9pm, or at all. Jay even provided menus, so that we might make a more informed decision. The places suggested were indeed top-notch. The one establishment Jay warned us away from, which was suggested by a friend from work, was exactly as he stated-not worth the time. Jay and Mary Ann visit the places they suggest, so they know exactly what the food and atmosphere are like.

Jay and Mary Ann, who are so down to earth, obviously take great pride in their business and home. The Inn was so clean! They also made sure that we were looked after, as this was our first visit to Cape May. They fielded our questions, made suggestions and offered help. They are as involved as a guest wants them to be. They were there to help, but I never felt that they intruded. As a first time B&B guest, I was a little worried. Worrying was a waste of my time.

I would stay at The Inn again, without hesitation. I would also recommend it to friends. Our only issue was the new employee who restocked the rooms forgot our towels. I informed Mary Ann; she was chagrined it happened and let me know where I could find them if it happened again. This wasn't really an issue, because I just took two from the outdoor shower. Otherwise, a picture perfect visit.

The Inn at the Park offers everything one could ask for when staying at a Bed and Breakfast. Jay and Maryann are wonderful hosts focused on providing fabulous breakfasts, warm ambiance, and comfortable stays. As the hosts Jay and Maryann work diligently to provide wonderfully designed dishes, while paying attention to a guests preferences, allergies and food necessities. Additionally, the 5 o'clock wine and hors d'oeuvres provides time to relax and socialize a bit and is a nice transition into the evening.
The Inn at the Part is located within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, theaters and art galleries. Overall this Inn offers everything needed to have a fabulous stay in Cape May.

This was a most pleasant stay. The hosts, Jay and Mary Ann, are delightful and the afternoon wine and gourmet snacks were a pleasant surprise and big hit with us.
We stayed in the room that has a complaint about traffic noise. We shut the windows and NO problem at all.

Jay & Mary Ann are the epitome of hosts and innkeepers! My fiance and I went down unannounced and found this oasis as a walk-in in 2012 and it will be the ONLY place we stay in Cape May when we are in town. Quiet, clean, refinished rooms were just the start. The food...oh, the food where do I begin. Jay is a culinary genius coming up with combinations I never thought possible that were as tasty as the professional presentation that sat before me. Truly awesome. Don't forget to make it back from the beach by 5pm for afternoon wine & cheese wind down time...Truly the best!!

Room Tip: There are rooms in the victorian home and there are also quiet attached cabana rooms with private en...

We have been going to the "Inn at the Park" since 2001 and consider it "our home" in Cape May. Jay and Maryann Gorrick, the Owners/Inn Keepers, give 1000% of themselves to be sure that their guests feel at home from the moment they enter the door and are accommodated to the Nth degree! Jay went to the Culinary Institute of America and provides incredible/delicious breakfasts, and their 5PM Happy Hour is to "get to on time" enjoyable, with fantastic goodies and paired wine for the day. From experience, we know that all the rooms are charming and comfortable, with private baths and all the amenities. Jay and Maryann spend time with their guests at breakfast and Happy Hour, help with suggestions and reservations for restaurants, are genuinely interested in your experience in Cape May, and when you leave you know you have made friends and that you will definitely return to this Inn. Having stayed in several B&B's in Cape May in the past 30 years, we can unequivocably say that the "Inn at the Park" is the best B&B in Cape May! We highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Every room is comfortable and air conditioned - 3 in the house on 2nd and 3rd floors, and 3 in back...
