We stayed at the Dormer House in July of 2012. From the first moment of our arrival, we felt as though we were being welcomed into Lucille and Dennis's private home. We stayed in the Mary Franklin room and it was beautiful. The breakfasts were wonderful as well as the afternoon tea. We walked into town every day, met very friendly people and were sad to leave. We enjoyed the experience so much, that we have booked the same room for next year for 9 days. I'm already counting down until the day we leave for Cape May. I would recommend The Dormer House without hesitation and have urged several friends to consider staying here. Thank you Lucille and Dennis for making this a memorable vacation. Barb and Megan

We have been coming to the Dormer House for at least ten years. We started out as two couples and gradually, increased to five!! The rooms are lovely and have been updated with wall-mounted, flatscreen TV's. There is a mini-fridge in the room! Dennis and Lucille are wonderful hosts. The breakfast is homemade and the afternoon tea is delicious, with Lucille's freshly baked desserts. Prior to staying at the Dormer House, we tried a few other B'B's but after discovering The Dormer House, we knew it was perfect for us. It's also a short walk to the beach and chairs and beach towels are provided. Dennis is very accomodating with any special needs for breakfast!!!

We also enjoyed talking to you both. Our breakfast porch is such a lovely place to enjoy your morning breakfast, so glad you did. Hope to see you again.

We spent a night at the Dormer House through a Living Social deal. The room was well-appointed and we enjoyed discussing the art work. The parlor and porches were spacious and inviting; I could have spent the day on the swing! Our 2 course breakfast included perfectly-prepred Eggs Benedict and homemade coffee cake. After many years of viewing the enclosed porch from the street, I finally fulfilled my dream to enjoy a lovely breakfast there.

Room Tip: The best room is just off the lobby.

I am not your typical B+B customer, but as a Catholic priest, for four summers now I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this charming place. I hate to leave and I cant wait to come back. I usually stay for a week to 10 days. Dennis and Lucille and staff have consistently gone the extra mile to make this a welcoming, warm, enjoyable place for me to rest and renew. It is within walking distance of most "essentials": beach, mall, grocery store. The porch is the heart of this B+B: outdoor breakfast in the AM, porch swing, rocking chairs, and fans, perfectly positioned to catch a wonderful breeze most evenings. Cannot recommend the Dormer House enough--and I always meet great folks here.

Room Tip: This is an old house, no central air. So all rooms have window AC units. Every now and then there mi...

This was our first B&B, and our first time in Cape May.

We stayed one night in the Mary Franklin Suite on the second floor.

Pros:
The room had a comfortable bed, couch, refrigerator, and double shower.
The AC worked great!
Delicious breakfast!
Central to beach & shopping (especially if you would rent a bike)
Free parking- never had a problem finding a spot!

Cons:
The tile in the bathroom was a bit dirty, (considering we were paying $200+ a night)- could have used a good scrubbing.

Breakfast was DELICIOUS, but seemed to take awhile to come. We were told that breakfast was served between 7:30 and 8:30, but we went down at 7:45 or so, and didn't get served until about 8:45. We didn't care, since we weren't in a rush, and the food was worth the wait! I believe the owners were away due to a family emergency, so perhaps being short-staffed.
We ate on the front porch, and it was nice & breezy.

Overall, I'd recommend the Dormer House- it was a pleasant stay!

Room Tip: I would recommend getting a room on the second floor, as the ones on the first floor looked to be ve...

We stayed at the Dormer House through a Groupon deal. It was a beautiful house and we stayed in the Dormer Suite, which was spacious and pretty clean. The hot tub left a certain residue in the water when the jets were turned on, so that was a downer. The house itself was beautiful and the breakfasts were yummy. The bed was comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay overall. It was a great deal through Groupon and we would stay there again. One downside was the location, it was much further from the beach than other B&B's we've stayed in at Cape May. We just rented bikes and we were able to get the beach in five minutes.

Room Tip: We stayed in Dormer suite, which had a spacious bathroom and bedroom area. The room had an AC unit...

We spent 2 nights in the Diana room and had a wonderful stay. Yes, you walk up a narrow flight of stairs, but once there, comfortable queen size bed, good pillows and nice bathroom. Breakfast was freshly made in a lovely enclosed porch or you could eat outside. Afternoon lemonade and a hugh selection of baked goodies should not be missed. On site parking, free towels and chairs made this an easy experience. It's only a few blocks to the beach and there are many good places to eat and shop in walking distance. Dennis and Lucielle are welcoming hosts, spending time in the afternoon to chat and make recommendations for dinner plans. Steve and Jenny were very nice so we felt as if we had been there many times before. We would surely return.
