“Nice mix”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

What a nice mix of shops and restraurants. I think we ended up going to every shop. The book store was really good. had a lot of local history available. I did buy two books so don't tell the wife. She did some damage too with a new bag and dress. She may even have snuck out some shoes. Will be back.

“Lots of tourist traps, but a nice walk!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

The Washington St. mall made a great walk for my wife and I after a romantic night out, but aside from some of the candy stores a lot of the shops seemed directly aimed at tourists. I can't say I was expecting any particularly great shopping experience, but a few too many shops that seemed "the same"...and seeing a Ben and Jerry's on the mall definitely took away from the quaint, "small town" vibe the mall gave off.

“Nice Outdoor Shopping Area with Shops & Restaurants”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013

It's a very nice area to walk around outside with nice shops & restaurants. There are many different types of shops from books, clothing, fudge, salt water taffy, jewelry, shoes, cooking, decorative items, Christmas shop, bath items, & even a general store.

There are many restaurants there also, including 3 ice cream places (Kohr Bros, Ben & Jerry's, and Dairy Queen) & Stewart's where you can get a frosted mug of soda & a casual meal, and many other restaurants ranging in types of food offered & prices.

Every year there is a new Mercedes car sitting outside Our Lady Star of the Sea Church on the end of Washington Street Mall & raffle tickets are sold (3 tickets for $5). The winner is drawn in October (in 2013 it will be on the 13th).

“Great Place to Walk Around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

Your typical shops for a tourist area, but with a few above average shops thrown in. Weeds is a lovely store all the way at the end down to the left of the Kincaid Art Gallery. Little hard to find, but they have a great selection of Vera Bradley, Brighton, and Camilla. Nice place to treat yourself. The Cucina Rosa Restaurant is at the end of the street almost across from Congress Hall. For a quick light lunch, try Stewart's Restaurant, it was formerly a bank and you can see the actual vault in the restaurant. The Swede Shop has a lot of lovely jewelry and Heritage Lace items. The Cook shop has really nice interesting things for the kitchen, as well as a good selection of teas and coffees. All in all, it's a nice place to stroll around after you've had a big meal and feel the need to walk off a calorie or two!
