Get there before 5:00 p.m. to gain access to the lighthouse. It's very beautiful and the park is very clean.

“Awesome views from top”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

If you can climb 199 steps to the top..........do it. I believe it is $7 to climb the lighthouse. They have a very nice, but small gift shop there. My husband got incredible pics from up there. The grounds are immaculate. Bird watching is good too I hear and everyone is very helpful to to give you a great experience. Our "bird lover" friend had a great time.

“Easy half day visit”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

The lighthouse itself is interesting and fun to climb, even though you have to pay. The little museum next to it is very interesting in its own right and worth a look. We wnet over to the bird watching platform and really enjoyed looking at the different birds. There were several birding experts present who were counting the hawks and who generously shared information and binoculars with the rest of us. There are several walks around the wetlands and down to the beach which are scenic and easy. The beach itself is great for walking, sunning and just overall relaxing.

“Let there be light”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Visiting this prominent lighthouse was quite an experience. Unfortunately we were not able to go inside the day we were there but it is definitely a sight worth seeing. I look forwrd to coming back on a time it is open because the vantage point it would provide to view Delaware Bay would be awesome

“Moonlit climb was awesome.”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Having been up other lighthouses and seen this was offered once a month at the full moon we planned our day around an evening climb. The lit house looks great by moonlight. It was a nice switch from daytime climbs. Seeing the towns and Delaware at night was special. A nice perk was that the cool temp was perfect. Unlike daytime climbs which can get hot this was great. I was happy to see full floor to ceiling bars at the top, it offered a little piece of mind. Overall climbing at night is a nice treat and this lighthouse is similar to most, great views and a neat look back in history how things used to be.
