Views from the Lighthouse were fabulous. There are about 199 stairs to climb but 4 rest stops. Very well maintained. Also a small museum you can visit and a small shop outside the lighthouse

I am so glad we drove to the lighthouse to view it in the light of the moon! It was such an amazing sight with the lighthouse lit up and the stars behind it! Truly breathtaking!

Climbing the 199 steps to the top of the lighthouse is rewarded by terrific vistas of the beach, wildlife preserve and military bunker. They have great information on the history and uses of the lighthouse from its beginning. The staff is friendly and knowledgable.
