After fighting the crowds at the beach, no parking in downtown we went to the Nature Center...easy parking, access to the mouth of the river, explored the shoreline, could have walked to a beach with few people. A kayak class was taking place, there were day camp sign ups for young kids which I would take advantage of if I was on vacation with children. Enjoyed seeing the ocean critters on display, looking from their tower and thoroughly enjoyed talking with Debbie who was working that day there. Would go enjoyed walking their trail. If the throngs of people in beautiful Cape May get to you, escape to the nature center.

This is the first year the nature center has offered this sport, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Paddle-boarding (we didn't know) is like standing on a surf board and rowing with an over-sized canoe paddle. It's easy to get the hang of it, and a very relaxing way to see the flora and fauna of the tidal marsh. The day I went, the harbor was a little choppy, but it was not difficult to paddle through it to get out to the marsh. All of us were beginners, and all had a great time. I expected to have sore shoulders afterwards, but no! The staff had a great sense of humor, and were most encouraging.

What a delightful little charm! So much information presented in interesting fashion. Our kids, ages 5, 6 & 12 were mesmerized with the specimens (alive and not). They were alive with questions - they were engaged in learning and wanted us to get involved, to share their excitement! And all we did was walk inside to escape the 100 degree temps!

Wonderful place to go at any age. The history of the Point, coastline erosion, the sealife- all so interesting.

I kissed a horseshoe crab for 10 years of good luck and watched an eager group of school children learn about the sea and shore life of Cape May..what an experience! The facility Director did our clas and led us to the shore to collect speciments for a wonderful hands-on experience.
