Enjoyed learning about the shore, wildlife and Cape May. It is especially good for younger children.

“Great Stand Up Paddle Boarding Via Aquatrails at Nature Center of Cape May”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

I'm an avid stand up paddle boarder and had no idea this fun activity was available at the Nature Center of Cape May via an outfit called Aquatrails. The folks who run the standup paddle boarding also offer kayaking and tours out of Cape May Harbor. They are super professional, friendly kind, and very concerned about the comfort and safety of their visitors. Today I brought my adult daughter and son-in-law, both of whom were first timers, and our guide, Ed, a history teacher during the year had them standing up within minutes. He also gave us a very informative tour. I highly recommend Aquatrails, which has its own web site. I've done this solo and also with adult family members.

“Moonlight Kayaking!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We pre-booked a full-moon guided kayak tour around Cape May and it was fantastic. There were three guides for approximately 20 of us. They started the evening on shore with a quick paddling review/lesson, so it was appropriate for beginners as well as seasoned kayakers. The center provided us with red flashing lights, but I would suggest also bringing along a personal flashlight or headlamp to comply with boating regulations. We were able to paddle past beautiful homes on the channel, local restaurants with boating docks, and the remote marsh. We brought bug spray but as long as we didn't paddle right through the long grass, the insects didn't bother us. It was 4th of July and even though there were many boats out, we felt very safe and had a relaxing and fun time.

“for real?”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

This by far is the worst nature center we've been too. I'm not sure how they can call themselves a nature center. The house is a store on the bottom then upstairs you can go out to the balcony and use the binoculars to look at the water. Thats it. The have a "lab" in the building next door that has a few fish. Thats it. You're better off going to the Cape May lighthouse museum. The have a lot of fish, reptiles etc that they'll let you hold and educate you on. Don't waste your time w this.
