Happened to be in Philly and decided to visit the Adventure Aquarium in Camden. Well I never expected such a great location on the water facing the Philadelphia skyline. Everything was so clean and beautiful. Then we got inside and we could pet the striped sharks and sting rays. Pet them!!!!!! Wow and the young staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. We walked over the open shark tank and stood right against the Hippos / only glass separated us. I am a senior and had the best time, I can't imagine how the kids must wallow in the experience. Jellyfish, octopus, sharks....even penguins. I can't wait to share my photos with all my friends.
And Camden.... it's really revitalized- clean and easy access to the aquarium. A place with a bad reputation that is completely wrong. I highly recommend it.

I love, love, love this aquarium! You get so much for your money. I love how everything is laid out so that you don't get completely overwhelmed trying to figure out what to look out. All the little areas for kids to play is great too, as kids can get disinterested really quickly. Getting a hands on experience is so worth the price (which still isn't bad). You do have to pay for parking, so be prepared for that.

Great aquarium! I travelled with my 10 month, though he doesn't understand what's going on. He enjoyed looking at the glass and the fishes. There was a little crowd on a Friday afternoon, but otherwise manageable.
Will definitely go back when baby's a little bit older.

We visited the aquarium with our sons, ages 11, 8 and 1. This place had something to offer for everyone. My boys loved the stingrays, the older two loved the shark tight rope exhibition. The baby got a kick out of the penguins and hippos! When back in the area we would definitely go back!

I really enjoyed my visit to the Adventure Aquarium! The tickets are reasonably priced for an aquarium, but there was a surprise $10 parking fee that I wasn't aware of until I got there. Considering I was parking in downtown Camden, NJ and there was a parking attendant, I didn't mind paying the fee because I felt my car was safe. Great exhibits. The penguins and hippos were a delightful surprise and I really liked that they did not have dolphins or whales on exhibit. There were a lot of interactive/hands on exhibits. You could touch small nurse sharks, stingrays, and star fish, lobsters, etc. At the end of your tour, there is a SHARK BRIDGE!!! You get to walk out over one of the shark tanks in a completely enclosed netted bridge and boy do those sharks look HUGE from up above! If you bring children, make sure that you teach them good manners and what an inside voice is...the constant high-pitched screaming was my only complaint. Great day trip for adults and children alike.

PRO TIP: The aquarium does have a cafe where you can purchase lunch: hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, fries, etc., but it is NOT cheap and I couldn't find anything remotely healthy on the menu. I bought a small hamburger and fries and it cost around $13, I think. Thank goodness I had a drink with me! Since you are allowed to leave the aquarium and come back, I would suggest packing a healthier lunch and eating it on the boardwalk area outside the aquarium and then go back to finish the exhibits. You'll save yourself a lot of money and the quality of food will be way better!
