“Perfect!”
Reviewed October 21, 2010

We found the Raritan Inn while seeking a location for our October 2010 wedding. As soon as we set foot on the property, we fell in love! We had the full property, including the grounds and all of the guest rooms, from Friday until Sunday. The new innkeepers, Matt and Ruby, resolved every concern we might have had, and went absolutely above and beyond to make us feel at home. Matt even went so far as to create and test "healthy" recipes at my request for breakfast, including egg white souffles that were TO DIE FOR. Every request we made was honored, and the event went beyond our expectations. Our guests were floored by the beauty of the location, the comfort of the accommodations, and the show Mother Nature put on for our special day. The weekend was absolutely perfect, and our wedding was unique and unforgettable thanks to the Raritan Inn. While we won't be booking it again for a wedding, we will definitely be back. Thanks, Matt and Ruby!

We have been to many Bed and Breakfasts all over the country and found this one to be particularly beautiful! The rooms were pristine, sheets ironed, spa showers, beautiful decor but the inn keeper was so wonderful! Margie made us feel right at home and the breakfast she prepared was gourmet to say the least! The setting for this B and B was so beautiful, quiet and had a trout stream running through it. What a great place to have a wedding, which is something they do quite often. Thanks for an incredible stay!

Everything about my stay at The Raritan Inn was special. From the welcoming with home made cookies, to absolute adorable rooms along with the bathroom. Staff are more than willing to make sure your satisfied. A great little rec room along with a historical attachment of a home from the 1700s. Property is beautiful with a barn, a small creek, and a butterfly garden. Sleep was very comfortable and breakfast was intimate and delicious.
In the morning, bicycles were supplied to ride along a beautiful trail that ends in a scenic river front. When departing, a travel snack was supplied with apple crumb cakes and cranberry oatmeal cookies. I loved every moment of my stay at The Raritan Inn.

This lovely inn is both charming and very welcoming to the guest. The room was elegantly designed and every item selected with comfort of the guest in mind . After completing a class on the premisis I was very happy to retreat to my room and enjoy the evening without a thought of the trip home until the next day. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the morning provided by the Innkeeper Margy. Looking forward to a future trip to the Raritan Inn

We stayed at the Raritan as part of a wedding party that took over the whole inn and we loved our entire experience. Our upstairs room and on-suite bathroom were good-sized with all the "extra touches" (down comforter, robes, local guide books, bottled water, wifi), including a lovely view overlooking the historic barn and pasture/woodland/river beyond. The public spaces downstairs were warm, super comfortable and had everything one would want at one's fingertips (cozy couches and chairs, daily papers, beverages and plates of cookies, rocking chairs on the front porch, computer/internet access, a lending library). The breakfasts and coffee were superb (the local special-cut bacon was to die for), all beautifully prepared and presented each morning. The Inn has private access to the Raritan river right outside their door, working with a local tackle shop to manage their stretch of the river for catch & release fishing enthusiasts - we tagged along one evening and watched them feed the fish - 2 words - huge trout. We also appreciated the Raritan's green commitment, a role model of serving and preserving our environment!

The Inn Keeper, Margie, was the best - we all wanted to take her home with us. She was as much a part of the wedding "crew" as anyone, pitching in anywhere and everywhere to help us, the caterers, rental crew and florist put the final touches on the outdoor wedding site overlooking the river and setting up the historic barn for a beautiful reception. The night of the rehearsal dinner she stayed up late working working with the florists on the reception decor - she went above and beyond to make sure the wedding went off with a hitch and took care of all of us at the same time. I would highly recommend the Raritan for a wedding or simply for travelers wishing to be pampered. Fantastic!

Our stay at the Raritan Inn was simply delightful. The rooms were exceptionally furnished. Margy the innkeeper is a one of a kind gem. We loved being served our 3 course breakfast, and there were so many interesting areas of the inn we didn't have time to explore them all. There were fruit and cookies available during the day as well as a selecion of teas and hot coffee. The river is visible from the front and side of the inn. We would absolutely love to stay there again. Everyone in our party was so very pleased and that included 3 generations. Bill did an exceptional job in this restoration. Thank you everyone.
