Went here recently to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the food exceeded my expectations. The appetizers were really great, and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. It's not the cheapest place in town, but since it's BYOB, that certainly helps. My pasta dish was very good. If you're going out for Italian in the Caldwells, go here or across the street to Forte (but expect a long wait at Forte and not as nice an atmosphere).

My wife and I really like this restaurant and dine here several times a year. It is a "bring your own" and, while we are not wine drinkers, we have friends who love to bring their own wine. We bring mixed drinks for ourselves. The food is fabulous! A nice variety of choices including steak, veal, chicken, fish and numerous pasta dishes. They have a black linguine dish that my wife loves and orders every time. The menu changes a bit by season. If there is something about the style of preparation listed on the menu that you don't care for, just ask for the dish to be prepared your way and they will do it! It's very much a neighborhood type restaurant but with a fine dining approach. It's usually crowded on weekends so make a reservation for Saturday night.

BYOB - what is cute, if you get there before your friends you can sit at the bar and open your wine and have a drink at the bar, cute idea...

Everything was delicious, my friend liked a pasta dish and she wanted it for an appetizer and they had no problem making it for her. The parmesaen cheese is freshly grated at your table.

Everything was very good, cannot wait to go back!!

Luce has a nice modern trattoria atmosphere with a loyal following. The food ranges from the "Luce" menu with a lot of traditional Italian favorites like arancini, Shrimp Luce, nice shrimp in a mildy hot tomatoe sauce, and the best veal picatta around, then to the specials which are always nice to choose from seafood salad, burrata, zucchini flower type additions; some different pastas, like homeade cavatelli with varied sauces; fresh fish, pork chops, etc. Best of all, it is BYO. Excellent service with servers who have been there for years and are always friendly. Owners Joe and Dino are attentive and aim to please. It's one of those places where you always run into people you know there. On Sunday, they have a Sunday Gravy Dinner complete with salad, pasta wtih pork, meatball and great Italian sausage, with dessert included. Terrific bargain. This is our Go-To Italian place among many choices in the area. Primo!

Visited Luce a few weeks ago on a weekday night with another couple. The place was not crowded (as we have found it on weekends) and we were seated right away. Service was fine, the bread was good, and the waiter opened the wine for both couples.

My wife had a salad and it was quite good. We shared a shrimp appetizer and the table all loved it. Here was the problem: Three of us had the same dish: linguine with white clam sauce. When we compared notes, we all agreed that the pasta was way overdone. Further, the dish was far too salty (and I prefer my foods salty, so the saltiness had to have been pronounced). It amazes me that an Italian restaurant can't get pasta right. Do they not taste it in the kitchen for doneness?

At the prices of this restaurant, the pasta should be perfect every time. We have been to this restaurant before and will probably return. Hopefully, this was a one-time experience.
