Adam's was a place we had breakfast one morning during our visit to NJ. Years ago it was a "Perkins" pancake house and what Adam's has done to the decor is awful.

Upon entering you are greeted by a row of coolers on one side and coffee station, etc on the other side; gone is the open seating area with nice wooden benches and couple plants. Adam's put in a very large display case for the bakery items which makes this other area look very cluttered. We were seated on the back side of the coolers you saw when you entered, Adam's has made an attempt to "pretty" up the back of the coolers with large black panels with pictures taped to them (some of the tape was coming off and pictures were about to fall), this is sloppy and not at all desirable.

We were there on a Monday morning at 8:45 am and there seemed to be only one waitress working. Adam's seems to be popular enough and the waitress was busy. We noticed a man and another woman helping; although they did not appear to be wait or bus staff. The salt, pepper and condiments on the tables had not been refilled and looked sloppy ("Perkins" always had these items constantly being replenished).

Egg white & ham omlet was $5.95; side of bacon was $2.55; Bacon & Cheese omlet was $6.95 and our coffee and small juice was $4.50.

Adam's claims that "Variety is their Specialty"... perhaps they should concentrate on a handful of things rather than having a large menu and overly busy entrance. They could have placed the coolers and take out items in one dining section, keeping it separate from the main dining and have had a much nicer, relaxing restaurant. Not having a few specialty items gives me the impression that they don't know how to do much of anything better than just "OK". That is a sad comment when you can't be proud of having a few things you do really well.

My recommendation is Adam's - go back to the drawing board. I don't know why "Perkins" want out of business but that was a pleasant place to have a meal at -- your restaurant is just too disorganized and messy for us to enjoy. On a positive note, I will say our breakfast was tasty and prepared nicely.

I live right across the street and eat here often. Everything from breakfast, lunch & dinner. Adam's bagels are made daily on premises and raval any other "bagel joint" in the area! They have daily specials too. I'd rather eat here than any other local place. Everyone I've brought here has loved it too! Forget aboput the diner!!!

Hands down this is the best diner in the area. Roomy, booths not crowded, clean overall. Prices are reasonable. AND THEY HAVE GRITS! Although guys, grits are a side like hash browns, not usually served in a huge bowl! Own bakery on premises. Home made bread. Just outstanding. Other diners in area need to take a lesson here.
