“Don't Let Small Fool You”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

The Cohanzick Zoo is a very small zoo nestled along the Cohansey River in Bridgeton, NJ. It definitely is small but the animals are big on personality. Ganesha the beautiful white tiger, Cocoa the white handed gibbon, Katie, the lemur, and many other animals are there for you to view at pretty close range. It's great for kids because it's small and doesn't take hours to tour. It's great for older folks who may not have a lot of energy for long walks. It's run on donations, and for being run only on donations, it is kept up really nicely. They have several special events throughout the year as well. Don't miss it just because it's small and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of what a big city zoo would have. Quaint is sometimes much better than snazzy & modern!

“A nice, hidden gem”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

This is a small zoo inside Bridgeton's city park. It's nice to walk around for an hour or two to look at the animals. It is a free zoo, but donations are accepted in the beginning of the zoo to help maintain and improve it. The white tiger is beautiful. The herons and porcupine recently got new habitats, and peacocks roam around freely. Sure, it's not the Philadelphia Zoo, but kids don't mind, they love to look at animals.

“Great local Zoo”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

Considering this is a city's zoo, the place is great. Nice selection of animals. Its small so its not a long visit, but little kids will especially love it. They do take donations and you can see they really need them.
