We were initially very excited, but the condition of the boat was a huge disappointment. It's obvious the absentee owner has little or no interest in the property, which is a terrible shame because with a minimum of effort it could be made into a very pleasant getaway.
The short list of what was not great about the boat: sliding entry door nearly impossible to close, plastic deck chair broken (I was nearly sent overboard when I sat and leaned back in it); toilet and closet doors constantly swinging open (no latches); wiggly, inadequate and broken deck rails; filthy storage area above sink; no stove (but listed); no table; no top sheet - only a bottom sheet on the bed; decrepit marine toilet (however, using the marina toilet was not a problem); and worst of all: the boat leaks horribly when it rains. It rained our last night there and I had to set up every vessel I could locate and all the towels to catch the water. Rain came through the window seals onto the mattress (which explained why our mattress was damp when we arrived) and dripped through the AC unit. It was ridiculous.
I tried contacting the owner multiple times with questions. He was very nice the one time he did respond, but we got cut off and he never responded again, even after I left him a long message about the leaks.
The experience was a huge disappointment. I'm surprised this houseboat is even listed. It really is a shame, though, because it could have been a super alternative way to spend time down the shore.

It was wonderful to eat breakfast on top of the boat and enjoy the sunshine and water, also a great time to be here. there were no crowds of people yet the weather was perfect. the boat had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Spent two nights on a cozy boat house. The boat was clean and the extra's were a plus such as towels, soap, shampoo, wipes, sunscreen, bugspray and qtips (nice touch). Fridge with sodas and water as well. The boat is in a marina, showering and full amenity bathroom had to be used, not on the boat. No biggee, just a quick walk and both were stocked and clean. Two restaurants (one high end and one mid range)within walking distance. There is a river beach also within working distance if you feel comfy jumping in the lake. During our stay it was full of jelly fish so we opted for a quick 20 min ride to the beach. Two beach passes to Seaside were available on the boat. Be prepared for the local Pirates boat tour to pass a few times a day. It you are looking for a quiet, intimate time, its highly recommended and affordable. Beats paying higher prices for a NJ shore hotel/motel. Seating on deck and on top of the boat was great for relaxing and watching sunrise/sunsets. Be prepared for small quarters but comfy.
