I stayed here last week with my family because the hotel is located close to Ft. Dix. First I'll tell you the tale of our first room. We checked in and I left my wife and infant son in our room to take my sister back to Ft. Dix. When I was gone she found a bedbug that crawled out from under the sheets of one of the double beds in our room. She squashed the bedbug. When I returned she showed the bug to me and I picked up the phone to call the front desk. The phone had no dialtone because the cord and outlet was ripped from the wall. While she waited for me to return She tried to watch TV, but that didn't work either because the cord wasn't connected to the wall.
I walked down to the front desk and really should have asked for our money back and left had I known our next room would be as poor. The front desk attendant is on a first name basis with their exterminator so bugs are common at this hotel.
They took our room (218) off the market and put us in another room (223) down the hall. I inspected the room before we moved our stuff in and didn't find any evidence of bedbugs, the TV and phone worked. I tried to use the Wifi but it wasn't working that night and there weren't any instructions in the guest information book. I decided to take a shower before bed and was surprised that they painted the bathtub. When the hot water hit the bottom of the tub the paint bubbled up and peeled away. There were small holes in the middle of the shower curtain and the curtain rod was only held in by three of the four screw holes. I found the heating/airconditioning unit unplugged, so i plugged it in. The controls didn't operate the unit properly because it wouldn't change the fan speed so we left it unplugged. It's good it wasn't hot or cold.
The property has been recently renovated, but there doesn't appear to be adequate verification of whether a room is ready to be rented by management. Too many things were wrong with both my rooms that I won't stay at a Ramada again.
I reviewed the Quality as Good because this hotel was comparable to other inexpensive hotels based on room size, advertised amenities and price.
I reviewed the Facilities as Poor-Fair because of the problems with the first room and the second room. Who paints a bathtub in their house?
I reviewed the Service as Good because I was booked in to another room promptly and it initially checked out as good.
