Situated literally alongside the runway this small cafe is perfectly situated for those using the Paulinskill Valley Trail in addition to others fortunate enough to be able to fly or glide in or out of tiny Blairstown airport. It is like something from a bygone era, a fifties/sixties diner perhaps, or one of those black and white films where the handsome hero, having satisfied his appetite, pulls on his leather flying helmet before striding off the short distance across the tarmac and taking off into the sunset.
Either way, both food and service are superb. There are a typically wide range of 'diner style' breakfasts on offer from 7.00 in the morning and the lunchtime menu of sandwiches, grills and platters is extensive and appears to be available until 4.30 p.m. Best of all though are the homemade fruit pies which are quite simply the finest I have ever tasted. The waitress/owner was particularly efficient, friendly and attentive throughout our visit to a cafe which is all about providing simple and unpretentious food at a great price in a particularly welcoming atmosphere. The fact that it manages this so perfectly makes it well worth the five 'star' score.
