My wife, children and I just got home from our second visit to The Saltwater Inn. Marty and Joyce made us feel very welcome. We were Marty and Joyce's first guests and the quality of the service, food and accommodation were just as good as when we stayed there in May.

Had an event to attend on Sunday so needed a place to stay Saturday evening. Found the saltwater inn on line and couldn't be happier with the good luck of finding it. The accomodations are comfortable, clean and the owners are diligent in keeping things that way. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and feeling at home. The breakfast was superb. The location is ideal to get to the local restaurants, beach and historic sites. Definitely a place I will return to in the future.

A previous reviewer wrote "over the top" and I couldn't agree more. Lovely new and clean property and the owners are truly caring but they are over the top when it comes to interacting with the guests. They are always around, asking if everything is ok, if you need restaurant recommendations or reservations, how your day was, etc. This is way more than necessary especially when done several times a day. On the other hand there are several misses, the most prominent being no daily housekeeping. We have never experienced this in a B&B before although when asked, Marty claimed this is standard. I beg to differ. This meant that we had to constantly ask for things like different pillows (only feather-type pillows were on the bed), a change to the thermostat (which had a lock on it), more towels, tp and tissues. They were more than happy to oblige but these things can be better taken care of with a daily housekeeping check. Also missing was a decent mirror, water glasses for the bathroom and we had only one bed-side table so we had to actually pile up pillows on one side for my husband's phone and watch. We also had only one suitcase rack and no other place to put a suitcase other than the floor (I have a bad back). When asked if we could have another we were told, "That's what the closet is for." There are no snacks or refreshments out for the guests or access to bottle openers or wine glasses. There is no choice for breakfast and you don't know whether you'll like something until it is put in front of you. So basically all of this requires more facetime with the owners who are running around trying to please all the guests. I fear Marty and Joyce will soon burn themselves out! We definitely prefer more privacy at B&Bs. Oh and don't even think of moving a chair on the porch or leaving a dripping umbrella by the door. Both frowned upon. They need to loosen up a bit!

Our goal is for every guest to have a great experience here at Saltwater Inn. The reason I asked you to reposition the rocking chairs that you moved because they were blocking other guests from freely walking on our wraparound porch. Your multiple open umbrellas on the porch was also not something that our other guests really apprieciated. We do our best to keep the atmosphere pleasant for all our guests. I am sorry that Saltwater Inn was not the best experience for you.

My husband and I spent five wonderful nights at the Saltwater Inn...nicest place we've ever stayed at the Jersey Shore. The room and bathroom were immaculate and nicely decorated. It's close to the beach and in walking distance to some great restaurants. Joyce and Marty made us feel like family members. Joyce is skilled in the kitchen...breakfast to die for. We would definitely stay here in the future.

My little girls, my mother and myself recently stayed at the Salt Water Inn. Salt WAter Inn is brand new and beautifully decorated. But much more importantly, the innkeepers, Marty and Joyce, are the most welcoming, helping, friendly people one can ever meet. I felt totally at home during my sty at the Inn. The food was absolutely delicious! We will definitely go back there and I will make sure to tell my friends about it... it is a gem!

We enjoyed a beautiful early fall weekend at the Saltwater Inn. Marty and Joyce were warm and welcoming and the food was delicious. The inn is new from top to bottom; beautifully decorated with many special (and funky) touches as well as incredibly clean. We loved the beach feel throughout and felt very comfortable. The inn is located just a short walk from the beach. Even though we grew up in New Jersey we forgot how beautfiul the beach is in Belmar. We loved walking on the boardwalk and found it perfect for running too. In the evening we were able to walk to the town area where there were many restaurants, shops and pubs. Kudos to Marty and Joyce for the wonderful job they are doing.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor in the front and could hear the ocean at night.

We decided to travel to Belmar for the first time to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and decided to go with the Saltwater Inn because of their excellent reviews on trip advisor. We were very happy with our choice when we arrived because the property is gorgeous, newly renovated and the owners are extremely nice and helpful. We stayed in the "Sandy Getaway" which was clean, comfortable and exactly what we wanted for our short stay. The location is great, only a short walk from the water. Marty was very helpful suggesting places to eat close by and reserved us a lovely table at a nearby restaurant on the water. The next morning, we were served an amazing gourmet breakfast they served at one of their outside tables.

We will definitely be recommending this property and hope to come back and visit in the near future. Thanks for making the birthday celebration one to remember!
