Yes, we drove 34 miles from our home to get to this place, but we wanted to try it given the generally positive reviews from others. It was unquestionably worth the trip. We were greeted warmly on arrival and were seated promptly and then our waiter took time to share the specials in detail despite a very busy Saturday night dinner business. We loved our dinners, a special traditional pasta dish that wasn't on the menu or a special that evening and the other was a special monk fish dinner that was cooked perfectly with homemade pasta. The appetizers were excellent too, and our only regret was we could only pick two, they all looked good. Though we didn't splurge on desert everyone that was delivered to adjacent tables looked great and all tempted us to try just one. Our waiter was professional and knew every item on the menu and special in detail. The only drawback as mentioned in many of the prior reviews is the noise level. The floor is tile and one wall appeared to be painted concrete. Cover that wall with drywall and they would cut the noise level significantly. Despite that we were able to speak and hear each other ok, and it won't stop us from going back

The food is good. The service is ok without being wonderful but it's so noisy you can't hear yourself think once the place starts to fill up. Found ourselves yelling to be heard.

This is a hidden gem. Some of the best Italian food in this area.
Staff is professional and will remember you after only 1 visit.
It's also BYOB which helps keep costs down.

Only issue is that it can get very noisy.

We came here after our visit to the Leonard J Buck Garden, since it was very close to that place.

As soon as we entered, we saw their Awards, Certificates, and Newspaper Write-Ups. Absolutely would have liked to stay and read some of the articles, but there was not enough space to stand there without getting in the way of people entering and leaving.

Beyond the door, there was a large Fireplace with two Dining Rooms on either side of it. The one to the right looked more casual and kind of like a waiting area for take-out orders. We were led to the larger and more formal one to the left. The room was old-fashioned, but elegant and warm. There were not too many people there – maybe, because of the late afternoon hour.

The Starter Bread Rolls were warm and served with Olive Oil and Pepper Flakes. We had wanted something spicy, so the server recommended Shrimp Fra Diavolo for my husband and the Cod with Spicy Linguini for me. Both the dishes arrived hot and steaming, and were cooked to perfection with the al dente Pasta. So Yummy! The portions were very large for lunch, so we packed up the leftovers, and skipped Dessert.

The service was impeccable – very welcoming, hospitable, courteous and nicely paced. The food was fresh and the atmosphere was classy. We would love to try this place again if we return to the area.

The exterior was unassuming, and the Parking was a little bit of an issue. Fortunately, we found a spot way in the back when someone pulled out.

Overall, our experience was positive.

The food and service at Trattoria Mediterranea is consistently excellent.
It's my favorite lunch spot.
It can get very noisy when busy. The acoustics are not great.
