My husband and I stayed at the Island Guest House for our wedding anniversary. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The rates are the best you will find for a B&B on Long Beach Island. Other B&Bs charge double the price with half the hospitality. We did a lot of research prior to selecting the Island Guest House. What ultimately drew us to stay there was a tour I took of the B&B years ago. It was just so charming I knew it would be perfect for our special weekend.

Mark and Joanne were truly gracious hosts. They immediately make you feel right at home and we found them to be incredibly helpful and accommodating all weekend. They go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable and enjoying themselves.

Afternoon tea was definitely a highlight. On a hot summer day, the iced tea is cool and refreshing, a perfect compliment to the sunny ambiance of the island. The cake served with tea was fantastic! Worth foiling a bikini body for! We looked forward to tea time every day!

The garden was perfect for enjoying the delicious home cooked breakfast or for bringing seafood take out to have for dinner. There was plenty of room in the lush garden so you didn't feel crowded and the fountain supplied a tranquil touch.

The guest house itself echoes the Victorian era of Long Beach Island. You will feel as though you're in a sepia toned photograph among the gorgeous furniture and well restored rooms.

The location is stellar. You're only a few streets from absolutely anything you may desire on the island. Great night spots, restaurants, shopping, and of course, the beach!!

If what you want is a romantic, personable, and beautifully Victorian experience on Long Beach Island, than the Island Guest House is where you want to stay. It's a home away from home in the heart of paradise.

My husband and I will definitely be returning to the Island Guest House. It's exactly what a B&B in historic Beach Haven should be.

In a day and age when the world is spinning much too fast, there is a place of refuge, a place where the smell of the sea greets you in the morning right along with the smell of coffee and the delicious concoctions coming from Joanne's kitchen at the Island Guest House, Beach Haven. New Jersey.
This romantic Victorian house sends you back to gentler times, with its warm and comfortable atmosphere, beautifully appointed rooms, excellent breakfasts, quiet gardens, and innkeepers who treat you like royalty.
Mark and Joanne Spulock make their travelers feel more like family than guests. The staff is attentive and helpful and if you need anything, everyone is most accomodating.
The dining room is a lovely room in which to eat, and the less formal atmosphere of the kitchen provides eye-catching decor and lively conversation. After the beach, tea is served on the porch or in the garden, or wherever you are comfortable.
Mark and Joanne make everything wonderful. Island Guest House is fun, relaxed, clean, "delicious", and one of the best bed and breakfast places at the Jersey shore.

We booked this B & B based on the award of "Best B & B on LBI". I don't know who gave them this award but it is not deserved. The owner is very nice but they need to RUN , not walk to the nearest SLEEPYS and purchase a mattress. I thought I was on a board with sounds effects.
We stayed in Viola's Room. The room is in the front of the property. The 3 windows have vinyl blinds from KMART. The spot light on the front of the house then lights up the entire room. YOU CAN READ without a light turned on at 2 AM. Needless to say, we didn't sleep well. The key to a good B & B is to sleep well. The breakfast is not to bad but when offered waffles with peaches, you should at least have fresh peaches. Not here, you get canned peaches. When the owner was asked if they had the Sunday newspaper, the reply was " I did not get a chance to go out and get one". I think a B & B who is charging over $200 a night, should make the time to get the newspaper or have it delivered.
