My husband and I had a small beach wedding and wanted a place where 30 of our closest friends and family could have a delicious meal after our ceremony. Pinziminio was a wonderful choice and we couldn't be happier with how things turned out. Karen was very helpful in making selections for our sit-down dinner and all of the guests raved about the food quality. Everything was fresh, made to order and absolutely delicious!

My receipt has an address on Long Beach Blvd. in Brighton Beach, not Bay Ave. in Beach Haven, but there can't be two restaurants with this name on LBI. Plenty of free parking. Arrived on a Saturday evening off-season without a reservation and were seated after a short wait. The place is one big room with a two-story high ceiling. Every table was taken, and the noise level was uncomfortably loud. Normal conversation was impossible. Shouting to be heard was the norm. There was a large party in the center of the room. It's interesting that the best-dressed diners were the worst-behaved. Service was snappy. Bread and oil appeared quickly. Of interest is the fact that there was no salt or pepper on any of the tables, since pinziminio is a mixture of olive oil, salt & pepper into which one may dip one's bread. We had meatballs as a starter. More like tennis balls. Huge and delicious. The meat was ground to a fine pulp and well-seasoned. We both liked them. Skipped the salad course. My entree was chicken over pasta with the house special Pinziminio sauce, which starts as a base of putanesca sauce to which they have added capers etc. I thought it was super. It's a thick red sauce that grandma must have been simmering all day to achieve an intense flavor like sun-dried tomatoes on steroids. There must have been a pound of pasta in my bowl. My wife, on the other hand, was not happy with her seafood rissoto. Menu said it contained scallops and shrimp, but there were no whole critters in it. The scallops and shrimps had been chopped into little pieces, which were scarce. The rissoto itself was bland (I tasted it too.). Dessert was tartuffo amaretti, which we shared and enjoyed. BYOB. Expensive resort prices. So there's the good news and the bad news.
