“Charming and Accessible for Business”
Reviewed November 8, 2011

Booked two rooms for 4 nights (during the week) on business because I needed to work Northern New Jersey into New York City, which is but an hour away by car if you avoid rush hour traffic. The Inn itself is charming, with well appointed lobby, plush carpeted hallways and very comfortable rooms, it was perfect for conducting meetings and maintaining a hectic business schedule. The restaurant across the parking lot was outstanding for food, drink and atmosphere. The room comes with a terrific hot breakfast. The staff is stoic and not terribly friendly which is why I rate "very good" instead of "excellent". Overall, I would recommend to anyone.

The Olde Mill Inn is a beautiful, well-kept old-style hotel, but due to it's speciality of hosting all-night, screaming, food-fighting, hallroom wedding drunkfests right outside your hotel room door, with no interest on the part of night staff to control their guests, it is not a place for the serious business traveler who needs a good night's sleep. When it comes to the O.M.I., you can forget sleeping altogether!

The breakfast is more than adequate, but get there early, as the staff begin removing food from the buffet more than an hour before the posted closing time in order to be out promptly.

Great price, expensive internet, adolescent drunk house in a classy setting.

Unless you're an Animal House fanatic, your first time here will thankfully be your last!

Room Tip: Good Luck!

The Management and Staff at the Olde Mill Inn would like to express how unhappy we are to hear that any of our guests did not have a pleasant experience at our Hotel. We do host numerous wedding during the course of a season and unfortunately some of the attendees may not be respectful of their fellow guests; in most cases, there are no issues such as those mentioned in this review. We do have professional security for just such a reason and if the occasion arises, wherein there is a disturbance, we address the complaint immediately. We in no way condone or host any sort of activity described in this review and absolutely regret that anyone, whether it be business or leisure travel, should have anything but the best night’s sleep and the most comfortable of accommodations.

The hotel is very pretty, and has the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. However, the front desk service was extremely stuck up borderline rude and expect to wait around if there is a wedding going on. I am here on business and the Internet that you have to pay for (which is bad enough) is not At all reliable. It is constantly disconnecting. Also the water pressure is horrible while showering.

I stayed here one night for business. I felt very comfortable and at home. The hotel is adjacent to the Grain restaurant on site and had to be one of the best places I have ever eaten. There is a courtyard that is extremely tranquil and inviting. The front desk staff were absolutely there to help with any needs. This will be a top destination for me when in the area again.

Our daughter was married at The Olde Mill Inn three years ago....they not only met but exceeded our expectations. Friends are still talking about the wedding! Since that time, we have visited the Inn numerous times for little "getaways". The Inn is just perfect in every way...nooks and crannies where you can sit and read, play cards, or just relax. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are tastefully decorated, comfortable, and the Keurig machine in the room is an added bonus. The breakfast consists of a little of everything...and the room where you eat is very cozy...you can eat inside or outside if you wish. The food at The Grain House is wonderful...I have never been disappointed. Whether I visit with my husband, or with friends, it is the perfect place to be!

Room Tip: If you are not with a wedding, the saff will give you a room away from the wedding guests so your ar...

We stayed there is past weekend just for the night to attend a wedding at a nearby hotel. Check in was really quick, the guy at the desk was friendly and helpful even though he was busy(we were given a room with two beds and they advised us the reason was the king rooms were close to where a wedding was being held and there could be noise...we were going to be out late anyway so we chose the king room). They even shuttled us to the other hotel, so we saved the $30 we heard another couple paid to go to the same hotel by cab.
The room was very pleasant, bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. It is in the style of an Inn but there was a nice balance of modernity. There were pictures of the famous people who had stayed there (james franco, danny glover just to name a few). The decor was very quaint perfect for the era it is set in. All in all a good place to stay

Nice & well maintained inn. It is old though and I prefer newer places but it was still in a good location, scenic, & had nice staff.
