123 North Main Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #3 of 6 Wolfeboro B&B and Inns
Reviewed July 30, 2012

I recently stayed here for the weekend with my mother and sister. We could not have been happier with our stay at 124 North Main B&B. Our hosts Barbara and Bob were just wonderful and welcoming. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. We can not say enough about the delicious breakfast! Barbara is an excellent cook and we couldn't stop talking bout how wonderful the food was, hours after we ate.

The location is perfect. It is just a short walk to the downtown area and waterfront. Barbara and Bob were great in recommending places to eat and other activities.

We would not even consider staying anywhere else, when visiting Wolfeboro. Highly, highly recommended.

Sorry to report that the 123 North Main B&B, so highly rated here, did not respond to several phone calls seeking to make a reservation. Based on the great reviews, this was our first choice so I didn't want to book elsewhere until I found out if we could stay here.

I left very basic, polite messages asking if they had availability on a certain night and never heard back. I lost almost a week before giving up and looking elsewhere.

I'm also a rental owner and I always respond, even when fully booked, so my callers can make other plans. For me, no website and no return phone calls creates an impression of arrogance, which I admit is certainly not the impression created by the reviews of those lucky enough to call when 123 North Main has rooms available.

This past weekend was our first visit to Wolfeboro - we found this B&B by chance. My husband and I stay at B&B's all over the country - at least 10 per year. This was the best overall experience we've had at an Inn. The rooms are lovely - great furnishings, paintings, and accessories; extremely cozy linens, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! The selection of teas available was impressive, and the afternoon goodies were TOO good. Barbara made the best breakfast we've ever had at a B&B - especially yummy were the Banana/Coconut muffins.Right down to the dishes we ate from, this is a place you shouldn't miss. 2 minute walk to the center of town, but out of the way enough to be out of earshot of any noise and traffic.

Room Tip: We had Room #2, and couldn't have enjoyed it more!

When seeking a very last-minute reservation for a room in Wolfeboro last week, we had originally wanted to book here after reading so many great reviews on TA. However, as we were arranging our unexpected trip very late at night -- much too late to call -- and123 Main had no web site, we booked another inn instead. But as our great luck would have it, when we needed to extend our trip once in Wolfeboro and the other inn couldn't accommodate us, the first stop we made was to the 123. Barbara and Bob warmly and graciously took us in, settled us into a lovely king-bed room with private bath and showed us where to help ourselves to hot/cold beverages and delicious snacks and baked goods. The couple was so welcoming, friendly and also helpful answering questions we had about the area and such, we felt like we were speaking to long-time friends. The inn is immaculately clean and cozy, with lots of interesting decoration to enjoy. The common areas were great to lounge around in. Our bed was perfect, neither too hard not too soft. The location was great, a short, lovely stroll into the town. And the breakfasts...well, in a word, wow! Don't let Barbara's easy-going attitude fool you, that lady is one force to be reckoned with in the kitchen. The muffins and scones were the best I've ever had, and her omelets rival the best of any I've eaten in Paris. The herbs and edible flowers she adds to her dishes are grown in her own garden. Heck, she even irons and perfectly starches her own cloth napkins. Barb is such a fantastic cook, that I just kept telling her she needed to conduct cooking classes (and that I'd happily sign on as her first student). Bob cheerfully tended to any breakfast needs, helped us with directions and other area info when we asked, gave great gardening tips (he's done a beautiful job of making the outdoor areas peaceful and inviting) and even helped print something important from our computer to his printer. In short, there wasn't anything Barb and Bob didn't do to make us feel like welcome guests in their home. By all means, this is a wonderful place to stay when in Wolfeboro. And don't let yourself be dissuaded from booking a room here just because you can't do so online; your small effort to phone for a room will be well rewarded when you snuggle in to this delightful place.

We love this place!!
Our daughter goes to Brewster Academy-down the road, and we've ALWAYS stayed at "123 N Main". That's several times a year, for each year that our daughter has been in school.
We love it.
We love Barb and Bob.
The place is immaculate, fun, warm, the breakfasts (and mid night snacks) are super yummy, the folks here are ALWAYS WARM AND WELCOMING, and there simply is no other place we'd even consider staying in the area.
Period.

Seven of us stayed at this B&B for a girlfriend getaway and we were wowed. The B&B is perfectly appointed with comfortable king sized beds, immaculately clean and new bathrooms, lovely antique furniture and art, and delicious sweet snacks and hot beverages available. The gourmet breakfasts are out of this world--eggs benedict, broiled grapefruit with yogurt, asparagus omelettes, and fresh baked scones or muffins each morning. They easily accommodated our food allergies. Bob and Barbara could not be more helpful with suggested itineraries, restaurant recommendations, and glasses and plates for your own cocktail party or champagne toast. The king room with adjoining queen that share a bathroom would be perfect for a family. I'll be back!

We were visitors on the last day of Columbus Day weekend in October. How can I say more than that the hospitality and the facilities were outstandiing. Our bottle of wine was chilled for us with crystal galsses and mixed nuts served on the lanai over looking the garden view. And that was just for starters. Our breakfast was a spectacular beautiful and taisty surprise in a lovely sun lit morning room again with china and crystal. Barbra and Bob make a special presentation for all their guests.
