My boyfriend and I wanted to plan a small trip to the White Mountains for Columbus Day Weekend. We found the Barron Brook Inn online and decided to give it a shot. Though it was a little further than where we were headed, it only required a 2 night stay and was very affordable compared to the other hotels near by. The innkeepers were more than friendly and prepared breakfast in the morning. The rooms were clean and the King bed help after a long day of hiking. The Inn is right of route 3 and about 20 mins to the mountains. It took us about 30 mins to outlets and downtown north conway. Since we saved a few bucks at the hotel, we decided to spurge a bit and heading over to Mt. Washington Hotel for some R&R. ps the spa is brand new and features an outdoor jacuzzi.

I would highly recommend the Barron Brook Inn, 4 seasons getaway.

We stayed at the Barron Brook Inn on our drive home via Moose Alley and Franconia from Quebec City to Boston area. The scenery was gorgeous, but we miscalculated our time, were detoured, and our cell phones did not work. Jason and Beth were so gracious and welcoming, saying "check in is when you get here". We didn't arrive until 9:30 or later and we felt so bad, but Jason was so sweet and helpful.

They are doing a wonderful job renovating the rooms, but even the rooms that Beth has not redecorated yet are clean, comfortable, and functional. The rooms she has gotten to are each individual and so fun! She has such flair and talent and good old fashioned ingenuity!

A great place to stay!

After booking a room at this Inn, we recieved the wrong email confirmation that was intended for another guest, who had booked the same time of staying as us, only as a lesser rate. When I called the Innkeepers on this matter, Inkeeper Beth agreed to allow us the lesser rate too. Good damage control on the finances.

The BAD: Inkeepers dress/groom themselves less than appropriate if they want to impress guests to consider staying there more than once.

Continental breakfast lacks luster, they had no cream for coffee, nor did they have or offer any hot chocolate. No afternoon cookies that are generally offered at other inns elsewhere as a courtesy.

If you're hoping for a good night's sleep, forget it. On our 1st night, they had a wedding group that kept up taliing as if nobody else was there excapt themselves until AFTER 1:30AM. Even with the bedroom door shut, voices in hallway were as if they were IN our room.

On our 2nd night, in the laate afternoon, after coming back from a LONG day's drive, our room was inundated with a SWARM OF LADYBUGS FLYING INSIDE our room from the back yard. Beth the Inkeeper was told of this problem and immediately took a vaccum and sucked the bugs up, which amounted to roughly 50 or more all over our windows. VERY disgusting.

To reach the ice machine, you have to walk downstairs to get to the ice machine, no biggy. Also, NO access to Internet for guests, not do the rooms have phones. If you desire to dine locally, bring a vomit bag with you.

The Good: Upon arriving, the Inkeepers offer to help you with your bags, something NOT done at many lodgings. Once engaged in conversation, both Beth & Jason can be very warm and personable. Beth was quick to offer my Fiancee a cup of fresh brewed coffee, but as said earlier, no cream for those who prefer it. Both Inkeepers offered input on some local happenings in other towns. Linda, the Inn's cleaning woman is very personable and helpful as well. Our king bed was INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE.

In ALL the areas common to guests, everything appeared SPOTLESS, INCLUDING ALL ROOMS. This inn is an OK place to stay if you DON'T want frills and a LOT of NOISE at night doesn't bother you. If you desire a GREAT meal, we suggest driving to Littleton,NH where they have both Applebees/Ninety-Nine.

We spent a week-end at Barron Brook Inn. This was the perfect spot for our hiking trip. We climbed Mont Washington and Mont Jefferson during the week-end. This place is much better than a regular Bed And Breakfast. The service could be rate as a 6 stars. They will make everything humanly possible to make sure you enjoy your stay.... and we did. The owner is also speaking french, this make thing much easier for visitors from Quebec... To all the hikers from Montreal or Sherbrooke, do not hesitate a second to visit Barron Brroke Inn.

While in New Hampshire on a motorcycle trip, we were looking for a place to stay, when we stumbled upon the Barren Brook Inn. Beth and Jason were very friendly and hospitiable. They cater to bikers. There are kickstand blocks, towels to wipe your bike down with, and stuff to clean your windshield, all at no charge! The rooms are very clean, bed so comfortable with lots of pillows. The lobby was very inviting, with comfortable seating to just hangout, board games and good company. The Barren Brook Inn was very quiet and relaxing. There were both families and bikers all staying here. Beth and Jason treat you like part of the family. The night we were there, the family was having a campfire and invited the guests to join them. In the morning there was a continental breakfast and Beth had made bluebrry muffins, which were still warm. Beth and Jason are working on updating and renovating this inn, but don't let this keep you from staying there, it was a wonderful find! We will definitely recommend the Barron Brook Inn to our friends and family.

What can we say. Beth and Jason were wonderful hosts. There wasn't a thing that we needed that they didn't help with, from helping with luggage to directions. This was a real fine for us, we were looking to peace and this sure has that.

We travel to Whitefield, NH in the summer to visit the Weathervane Theatre. We discovered the Barron Brook Inn just as owners Jason and Beth were opening and renovating it in 2008 and have stayed there 3 times. One room at a time, they are converting a hunters' lodge into a lovely bed and breakfast. The building is very New Hampshire and the decorating is stylish country, with a lobby in which you'll really want to linger. Their hospitality and service are second to none, at any price, and their price is extraordinarily reasonable. Continental breakfast included. Just north of the White Mountains with easy access to attractions and parks on either side. We'll be back!
