Chris and Roger followed through on their Rose Garden promise. Our stay in the Rose Garden Room was wonderful. The bed was amazing; from the 7 ft high headboard to the amazing sheets! The bathroom has a corner spa tub. Chris's breakfast was amazing; and she even accommodated my gluten free diet! We enjoyed our bottle of champagne (thanks for the flutes Roger) while perusing their collection of interesting coffee table books. The owner/hosts are very friendly and gracious.

Room Tip: Every room is unique. Some have spa tubs.

My partner and I stayed here last year and loved it so much we came back this year. The house is beautifully decorated with an eclectic flair. Chris and Roger go out of their way to make you feel welcome from when you first get there and they give you fresh warm homemade cookies to the personally prepared and served breakfast that never disappoints. They make sure they help with any questions you might have without being intrusive. Overall, The Lion and the Rose really met my hopes of what a charming New Hampshire B & B should be.

The bottom line is that The Lion and the Rose is a gem or a place, clean and comfortable with lots of charm, well run and welcoming with nice amenities such as breakfast and free wi-fi. I recommend it and plan on keeping this on my list of favorite places to stay.

Room Tip: From what I have seen, all the rooms here are a good value.

It was good. No, amazing. More like fantastic! Chris and Roger were excellent hosts. They take the utmost of care of their home. It is a beautiful home with a variety of rooms to choose from. Chris' breakfast is the icing on the cake at this bed and breakfast. A definite stay.

Room Tip: There are rooms for every price range and need. Choose according to style if price is not a deciding factor.

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast. Chris went out of her way to accommodate us in our request for an early breakfast so we could get an early start on our trek up Mount Washington. The breakfast was delicious and served on lovely china in a formal dining room. The decor is very Victorian and charming with loads of interesting knic knacks. We would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back again.

Room Tip: First floor room is nice. Didn't visit the other rooms but am sure they are fine as well.

We had a wonderful stay at the Lion and the Rose. Chris and Roger are super friendly, welcoming hosts! The attention to detail in the rooms is amazing. We stayed in the Lion's Den and it was a treat just to walk around the room looking at all the little touches. The bed was comfortable, the sheets and towels luxurious! It's by far the best B&B we've stayed in.
