Overall stay was very good. It got a bit crowded especially at the pool area (many unsupervised kids), but that is expected during school vacation weeks.
Many of the activities are geared for the younger kids under 9 or 10. It would have been good if some activities were scheduled for later hours for the older (pre-teen, Teen) category. (example-bonfire ends at 6PM, skating ends at 8PM, bingo from 5p-6p.) There is a movie theater to reserve, but it books early.
No concierge....you need to go to front desk and wait to ask general questions.
For Zagat rated hotel, I expected the front desk staff to have a bit more polish.
Restaurant/ Bar staff were excellent.

Room Tip: If you upgrade, ensure you ask for Front Mountain view. All rooms technically have some mountain...

From the first time we stayed here, we have never been disappointed. This weekend was no exception. We did some snowmobiling on our own, but I also enjoyed some quiet time in the Eisenhower Library. So relaxing. Our evenings were spent in the bar with Michael and Eric mixing us some wonderful drinks. Eric makes a delicious Espresso Martini!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

Room Tip: The rooms on the lobby floor are very noisy because of the kids running to the pool. Those are the o...

What a wonderful vacation! We stayed for a couple nights on school vacation with 4 children and everyone had a great time. We enjoyed ice skating, swimming, tubing, game room, axe throwing, and so much more.

The staff was super friendly, offering "magical cookies" at just the right moment to brighten a sad child's day. Can't wait to go back!

Very comfortable, with clean rooms, and friendly staff. Enjoyed the restaurant, and after dinner in the lobby with fireplace and piano player. Also, try the Ax Throwing Competition. They took something that is a little scary and made it an enjoyable activity, with lots of laughs (and safe). "I will not be defeated! Freedom!" The Skunkman.

We had a great experience during our 4 day trip. Everything was excellent - our room, the pool, gym, game room, outdoor activities, tavern restaurant and most importantly the staff went out of their way to ensure that guests were super happy. You can't go wrong with Mountain View resort.

This was a neat place. The rooms are a bit pricey, but you get a lot for your money. Try watching the shining in the movie theater downstairs. Also, make sure and try the axe throwing in the morning, it is FUN!

Just returned from a two night, mid week stay with three adults and four kids. We've never been away during school vacation week and I kept my expectations low. I couldn't have been more pleased. The resort was refreshingly unstuffy and able to handle a full capacity week. We took advantage of almost everything the property had to offer: sledding, x-skiing, indoor pool, game room, wine tasting, roasting s'mores, barn tour and ax throwing. Our rate included breakfast and we ate in the Tavern for one dinner. The food was very good, healthy, and with smart choices, very affordable.

Yes, the rooms are small (it's a historic hotel), but they were super clean, and anyway, we were too busy using the amenities to hang out in the room. The common areas are plentiful with lots of comfortable space to enjoy each other's company, read a book or play a board game. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. You want to bring in take-out pizzas and play poker in one of the common areas? Sure. Your four year old and her two cousins want to twirl and dance while the pianist plays in the main lobby? Excellent. Your kid can't separate from you while you attend a wine tasting? No problem just shoo him to the other end of the parlor with some cheese and crackers. You need duct tape to fix a x-ski boot? The front desk staff found some behind the desk.

While there might be a few things I'd change/improve ...better signage to find the indoor pool and game room, an hour (rather than 30min) wine tasting, maybe even a lantern lit evening loop for x-skiing(!), the Mountain View really got school vacation week right. A great value.

Room Tip: The walls are very thin. Next time I might request a room on the third (top) floor where you don'...
