“As good as Mount Washington Omni”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

It was last spring I attended a conference at the Mountain View; sorry for the delay. Usually conferences get the rooms with the worst views, but mine was great. The food is so much better than "hotel food" and the service was very attentive. While I live in Mass. and the trip took 3 hours to get there, it was worth the time and I plan to get back there for a vacation with my wife - no business meeting this time.

Room Tip: Choose the front mountain view rooms on second floor

Mountain View Grand is my all time favorite hotel. Its name is fitting. It is a grand hotel. It was restored expertly keeping the old beauty and charm with the new comfort and amenities. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. There are incredible views everywhere you look. The staff is great. They are friendly and helpful. My last trip there I lost my car key (I'm a disaster when I travel) and the porter helped me search my room. The food is awesome. I have Celiacs and require a gluten free diet. I ate there the two nights I stayed and the chef each night came out to my table to discuss what he could make me that would be safe for me to eat. I like to travel alone and I feel so comfortable there. The location is wonderful. There are lots of things to do any time of year. The spa is fantastic as well. If you want a fun trip where you will feel like a King or Queen go to Mountain View Grand.

This is a beautifully restored old hotel with charm. The views from the front of the property are stunning. The best I have seen in NE ! It is wise to ask for a room facing the front of the property.
The rooms were very comfortable and updated. There is a 9 hole golf course on the property that is fun to play and they charge only $25 for unlimited play with a cart included.
We had dinner in their fine dining room one evening and it was great! It is a bit pricey but the food and service was impeccable. No children under 12 are permitted in this dining room. The Tavern was also very good with just a more family friendly menu.
Overall a great hotel and worth the trip.

Room Tip: Front facing view preferable.

Just stayed 2 nights over memorial day weekend. It was our second time but first time in the summer. Some of the rooms can be small but all in all we love the hotel. Very historic feel with all modern amenities and lots of unique things to do for families. We planned to go to Santas Village but resort had so many things to do we never left. Barn with animals for kids-horse rides-ax throwing-marshmallow roasting or just sitting on the over sized front porch. Indoor and outdoor pools are great. The activities and mountaineering club for kids are run by a friendly and energetic staff-this was definitely a bonus and a nice unique feature that made the experience. Surrounded by gorgeous views the entire time. Food was good and views to compliment-we found it easy to get a seat in the dining room with panoramic views.

Our recent two day stay at MVG was hugely satisfying. We were pleasantly surprised at the friendly, responsive service, the amazing surroundings, the creative, interesting activity program geared to different age groups and interests, and so much more. Ms. Baker's activities were unique, and the fact that many of the offerings are inclusive will be the "difference that makes the difference" for our future vacation choices in northern NH. Having enjoyable activities geared to families, couples, and even those more life experienced, and making most of those activities as part of the room rate or with just a limited fee, really lent to a sense of relaxation and value built in. The axe-throwing was the best, and I remain addicted! Thank you, MVG staff and owners!

They put us in one wing of the hotel on the first floor. The rooms were so grossly misstated, it was small with dirty carpets and an even mustier smelling closet. They boasted a gorgeous mountain view only to be hindered by the ugly and outdated window/window screens and panes. I wanted to leave right away when they couldn't upgrade us to a nicer room. Overhyped and I couldn't be more grossed out.
