I here the tower is open to the public now . Wasnt when we were there but still a great time. I remember going here as a kid and a ranger sat in the top. It was a working fire tower back then

On our way to the Lancaster Fair we stopped at the Weeks State Park for a view from the fire tower. We were pleasantly surprised once we arrived. The house is now a museum and there is a wonderful woman who is so full of history and information on the property. mr Weeks was a pivotal man in history and we had never heard of him. It is a nice place to stop in on your way by.

The weeks state park is a lovely place. At the end of the hiking trail is a fire tower. the hike up is quite steep and beyond a point it is quite tiring. Just beyind half point is a beautiful viewpoint which gives u a view of all the mountain ranges in that area. The view is spectacular from here. Do not miss it.
You can go up the park in your car, which is good for lazy bums like me! in case you are going by car, just be sure to be out by 5 30, coz thats when the park gate closes. you dont want to be trapped inside.

We had a great walk, lovely view with interesting buildings at the top. Relatively easy walk on pavement.

My son and his wife got married at the Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield, NH. In seeking out a rehearsal dinner location, they came upon the Weeks State Park. It was the former vacation home of John Weeks (2011 was the 100 year anniversary of the Weeks Act ) Weeks hosted many famous people at his incredible home. It is now a State Park. It is situated on the top of Prospect Mountain. There are 360 degree views of the White Mountains, the Green Mountains, Canada, and Maine. We rented the estate for the evening and had the food catered by a local caterer. The park staff was very helpful and friendly. We had access to the stone fire tower where the views were even more magnificent.
In the winter, I think there is a little ski mountain though I'm not sure when it is opened.
The home is a step back in time. Truly worth the visit if you are in the north country.
