“Beautiful views”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

This beach is convenient if you are staying in Weirs Beach, otherwise you have to pay $10 to park in the lot or pay a meter on the street. There is a large bathroom/changing area, but I don't remember seeing showers. There are lifeguards on duty, but they don't seem especially vigilant to me. The beach is wide with fine sand. The water is crystal clear with a firm, sandy bottom. There are a few large rocks underwater, otherwise, no weeds or other items. The view of the mountains is spectacular as you swim or sit on the beach. There is a channel next to the beach with boats constantly coming and going. The swim area is quite large and the depth goes up to about 6 feet. The only thing I found disappointing was the amount of trash in the water and on the beach. I found various pieces of glass washing in that were still fairly sharp on the edges, a couple of band-aids, a McDonald's bag disintegrating into many papery pieces, several plastic cups, and bits of this and that. I guess in that beautiful setting I expected pristine conditions, but when you add hoardes of people, you will get those that just don't take care to manage their stuff. Overall, a nice beach. And directly across the street is a small waterpark/mini golf where you can buy a pass for all day at $35 and come and go to the beach.

“In the swim of things”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

If you're expecting something along the lines of Jones Beach on Long Island or Ocean City, Maryland, you'll be disappointed. But if you want a small, clean beach on Lake Winnapesaukee, a great place for families, this is the place. We were there for hours and the kids didn't want to leave. Adjacent park area with picnic tables. Only drawbacks are that the lifeguards leave at 5pm and the bathhouse could have been cleaner. Otherwise, a great way to relax and cool off while road tripping through New Hampshire

“Not a Dump at All!”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

I have lived in NH over 30 years and it is always a treat to visit this small beach area. If you are not from the area, you may be disappointed because the beach is so tiny. It is great for a family reunion because there are so many things to do as a family without worrying about things. This is right on Lake Winnipesaukee so you can't beat the gorgeous view. You can watch the boats come in and out. The water is a comfortable temperature in August and is very clean. It actually looks like they sweep the bottom where the sand is. There are a few shaded areas so you can choose to be in the sun or sit on a picnic table. The downtown is cute and there are a few restaurants within walking distance. There is also a water slide, drive-in and a few miniature golf courses. New Hampshire is such a beautiful state, especially here, but I am a little biased!!

“What a dump!”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

Being a former Jersey boy I guess I was expecting the Jersey shore. Boy was I disappointed! We drove about an hour from our campground through the beautiful NH countryside. We were looking forward to having a good time "walking the boards." But there is no "there" there.

The beach is quite pretty, but the "town" is shabby with little variety of things to do. We paid for 2 hours in the meter and left after 30 minutes. Oh, well. At least we enjoyed the ride.
