“A joyful throwback to the days of family owned cottage/autocourt vacations”
Reviewed January 18, 2012

My husband and I stayed in cottage no.9 three times during the past two years. Because it is a small cottage there was't any shock or dissapointment that the shower/bathroom was small-it is a cottage afterall, not the Taj Mahal. They keep the soap and hair shampoo and conditoner in wall moiunhted pumps and a simple squirt of each quickly clues you in to what is what. The important thing is the cottage was clean, the bathroom/shower area was clean and the staff friendly and attentive. There is a small kitchen sink area complete with pots and pans basics, cutlery, plates and glasses. Also a microwave and coffeemaker (although Dunkin Donuts is up the road)Not in the mood to cook? Several restaraunts are just up the hill, you can order to pick up and walk the food back w/o it getting cold. Hop in the car and you can eat zat the nearby legendary Hart's Turkey Farm. For a couple or three people the wee but comfy cottage( this particular cottage includes ai rconditoning/heating unit) is a wonderful simple getaway. When it rained we played games, when it was sunny we took the car and headed out to local attractions, antique stores, farm stands, the oldest general store in Amderica, The Annalee outlet store and even the edge of the white mountains. We hung out in the carnival atmosphere arcades, drove up to the other end of the blvd to watch a good old fashioned double feature out door movie and drove toward the tonier areas of the lake regions. Coming home at night we were welcomed by a larger than mos(at least by cottage standards) screened in porch-a place to while away the evening hours whether you are young( enjoy the local homemade candy just across the road or older(fresh cheeses and wines from the area farms..The porch includes a table and chairs and cheery window boxes. So, if rain or bugs are an issue, this porch serves as a lovely, protective spot located next to a small grill and a clothesline. The cottage is situated just a cabin away from the swimming pool which is clean and affords those who enjoy evening swims the oppurtunity to splash beneath the stars. For their mates, who are not necessarily swimmers, the patio area of the pool is large with many a lounge chair and table to chose from. The motel is located far enough away from the boardwalk so noise is not an issue, but close enough so that walking distance is convienient. A night stroll on the boardwalk is sweetly romantic, as is the chance to take a night cruise on the famed Mount Washington boat. Again within walking distance of The Weirs Beach Motel. Also launching from the same spot is The Sophia and her sister ship The Doris, both are the only floatring post offices in the country and both offer daytrips as they deliver mail to those who live on the many smnall islands that dot the lake. Gorgeous scenery that at times includes sunset cruises. The Motel is also a short walk from The Hobo railrod, a fun train trip around the lake area, particularlly lovely in fall. Though there is the occassional noise from the road (which shouldn't be a shock to anyone since the hotel is located on the main thorofare) noise is quite minimal as the motel sits at the end of the `main drag'. For the most part peace reigns. Avoid Bike week, of course, if you are looking for relaxation and quiet. Since the motel was bought by thye current owners back in 2010 (and what a friendly, hardworking family they are) they have worked to upgrade the asthetic and utilitarian. They are quick to help if there is a problem and quick with a smile overall. My husband and I married before his deployment back in 2010 and spent a short honeymoon here and another few days befrore he shipped out for a year. Several months before my husband returned on leave leave the motel owners patiently and happily worked with me when I had to change reservationn dates to accomodate my husbands ever changing date of return. In short, This is a wonderful place for anyone looking for a reasonably priced, well maintained spot that evokes images of vacations from an earlier time, when staying in a small cottage was consiodered quaint, fun, romantic (or family friendly depending on who you are with lol ) and service provided by kind, smiling, prompt, helpful family owners was and is appreciated.

This is a small cottage with a kitchen, we were situated across the street from the check in and in between two of the bigger cottages. It was an ok place clean enough. The shampoo, conditioner and soap that was provided in the form of wall dispensers. This would have been fine had the stuff been marked, it was kind of a guessing game on what was what . There was also some medicine left in the medicine cabinet which was expired in 2009....this leads me to believe that the cleaning done in these places isn't that thorough. Having the kitchen was very convenient we cooked ourselves breakfast both days which was nice and saved us a little money.
The cottages are nicely located, just a quick walk to the main street area! where you can find dining, arcades and the train.

We rented the 2 story home as my daughter was being married on the Mt Washington Steamship and their location was perfect. The home was perfect for our needs. Plenty of parking and sleeping space. And an incredibly huge bathroom on the 2nd floor. Power went out in the entire region on the day of the rehearsal and the management kept placing calls for us to give us an anticipated time when power would be restored for us to get ready. That helped keep our nerves in check! Then the weather turned quite cool and when we couldn't get the heat on (on the day of the wedding with a house full of women trying to get ready for a wedding) the management responded immediately and had the heat working in short order. A number of guests also stayed at their cottages and had a great experience as well. I can see why these folks are on a preferred vendor list from the Mt Washington Steamship event coordinators. Although we don't live more than 1 hour away I hope to go back for a long weekend sometime. The staff certainly made us feel welcome and were very attentive.

The cottage we stayed in was beautiful. It was better than most hotels we have stayed in. Our kids had the best time. The cottage was amazingly clean and roomy enough. The price was a lot less than we expected. We have been to New Hampshire many times but this was the first time we stayed here and it definitely won't be the last. We plan on staying a lot longer than we did this year and we are coming back to the cottage.

My son and I spent 3 nights at WBM&C. What a lovely and clean room! After a hard day of playing outdoors, what we liked most was coming back to our perfect room. Not only was it very reasonably priced (a single mom's dream and not everyplace out there advertises truthfully!), but the beds were comfy and clean, the rooms immaculate, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in a wall container in the tub/shower, plentiful coffee (reg and decaf), a 'clothesline' in the tub/shower to dry our wet bathing suits after swimming in their pool. I have paid the same amount per night for far less valuable accomodations. It is within walking distance to everything on Weirs beach. We spent time at the arcades, eating at Anthony's, the Tower Tavern, a cute little candy shop which had delicious wraps and The Crazy Gringo-all great food! We went on the Monkey Trunks aerial thing, went to the beach and the movies, We had a blast, but what we liked most was coming back to our perfect room at the Weirs Beach Motel & Cottages. Holly and Kirk are friendly, helpful and patient. Thank you, we can't wait until next summer! We shall return!!!!

Stayed three nights with very musty smell that never left. Car outside motel with no place to roam about - felt very confined. Light in bathroom over mirror didn't work so hard to put makeup on. Felt like it needed a thorough overall and updating. Only good thing is walking distance to Weirs Beach. Road goes right past motel subject to loud road noises. Wanted to leave after first night but we had prepaid which I will not do again. Do not recommend!

Motel was built in the 80's and ALL lights work. She blew the GFI and never mentioned it to us. We pushed reset and it was fine. Had housekeeping been allowed in, it would have been fixed in a second. We also had 4 days of rain and humidity was very high. Most of the seniors that stay here love the location, cleanliness, convenience, and attention to detail. On this rare occasion she wanted a chain motel to be in the heart of Weirs Beach. In addition, we would have been happy to have returned her money if she had mentioned her issues on day one, as we had a wating list of people trying to get a room.
