“Great Location, Friendly Staff”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

We stayed here for a long weekend in February. The staff was very nice and the location was close to both the town square and not far from the mountain. You can easily walk to the tiny town as well as take the shuttle that goes to town and the mountain. Would definitely stay here again :)

We recently brought a school group to Waterville for a long weekend trip. It was great. Things were really well organized . The service was courteous and helpful. The Valley Inn took really good care of us. It isn't always easy travelling with a large group, and yet this holiday was thoroughly enjoyable (and even easy), in large part to the staff at the Inn and on the hill. We will return again, that's for sure.

This was our second visit to same town, and same hotel. The name of the Inn says it all, great Inn in a great Valley. We love the town, and we love the Inn. We are treated like family, we were able to pick which of the two rooms we wanted (as we booked one of the two units that are two bedroom). We picked the one with the fireplace and sauna which added greatly to our overall ski vacation experience.
The staff is always very friendly, helpful, and even thanked us for returning back again.
The cleaning staff were great to give us extra towels, and asked if there was anything else we needed to make our stay better.
We felt so much like part of the Inn's family that when we made cookies in the room's oven, we brought them down for the guy at the front desk!
Our kids love staying here and our son already asked if we could come again in the winter.
I want to go for a summer trip too! But either season is fine with me.
The free activities in the village are a great plus for the destination. You can use the athletic centre, the arena for free public skates, the gym (for great games of basket ball and floor hockey, you can even toss around a football.
We love the arena and the stick and puck, all people of different ages come and then they all play a pick up game. The young men and boys are respectful of the different ages, and give them chances and play along side the young kids. Our kids only wore olny their helmets and hockey gloves and felt very comfortable. The ice arena is a plus, for families with three kids in hockey.
We are already talking of going back for either a summer or winter trip, and we just got back two days ago.
We found the village and the Inn very relaxing and felt very much at home there.

Would definitely recommend the Inn and would go back in a heart beat.
Missed you Steve this time!

Room Tip: Love the view of the ski hill, would recommend it!

The Valley Inn is located in the heart of Waterville Valley. The perfect location for us.The room had a magnificant view of the mountains. It was a Parlor Suite, which is a very large room. The sleeping area is separated by a couch and a comfortable chair. It had a small kitchenette area with a tiny table and 3 chairs. The kitchen which was advertised as having everything you would need, did not. It made it difficult to prepare any meal. No bowl to mix, serve a salad, a measuring cup. It was very sparse. It did have a microwave. The maid seemed to have difficulty in maintaining the room. She neglected to vacumm, clean the tub and replace all of the towels she took away. Also the coffee pot was not cleaned and the coffee was not replenished.
However, the front staff couldn't be more helpful. They brought up additional towels and coffee. They indicated to us that they have been having problems with their maid service. We decided to stay an additional day because a snowstorm was coming. They gave us the Groupon rate that we had used, instead of the regular room rate, which was a considerable difference. We would come again. Hopefully, the maid service problem would be resolved by then.

We arrived at Waterville Valley Inn in hopes of a relaxing and romantic getaway. We knew that a Groupon deal may have meant taking a risk, but our experience was unfortunately pretty disappointing. The customer service was promising upon checking in but everything went downhill after we entered our room. The room was outdated, the lighting was terrible, and the paint was peeling off the walls. Our free bottle of wine that came with the Groupon was not in our room and we had to ask the front desk for it. When we did get our wine, it was a cheap bottle of White Zinfandel (I'm not a wine snob by any means, but they could have done better than that). We spent most of our time outside of the Inn exploring the little town and surrounding areas which was nice although not too welcoming of an atmosphere if you have not been here before. This Inn will definitely need to update in order for us to come back again - not worth the $ or the drive.

Our family went for a mid-week school vacation 3 day ski trip. We booked at the last minute as I found a mid-week ski package the Inn offered online. While the fine print said the package was not available during school vacation weeks the Valley Inn honored the package price! No hassle - very accomodating and friendly. The room is spacious - not fancy/glamarous - just a nice clean hotel room. Great location to mountain and Town Square. Very nice lobby as there was always a warm fire in the main room as well as complimentary coffee and hot chocolate. I highly recommend and will definitely return.
