This is worthy of trip from anywhere nearby. The service, menu, and food was as good as you can expect from any "big city" like Boston or New York. And to complement the meal a lovely wine list! Yes, the prices were a tad high but the quality was exceptional.

We had been recommended this place by a number of visitors to our inn which is in Woodstock VT, and finally made the trip. We now regret not going 8 years ago!

A simple menu which offers a few changes for lunch or dinner...and they even have a mid afternoon bistro menu which is what we had. The plate of cured meats to start with 10/10! Then 2 salads, a goats cheese and a chicken again 10/10. Followed by obligatory hot chocolate, one milk one dark and a couple of 'sticky buns' (madelaine being one of them) again 10/10.

Great atmosphere with a real European flair and being Brits we can see through a packaged attempt which this was not, tasty beer and refreshing rose, server John and his colleagues were very approachable made for a great way to celebrate our anniversary.

We will return......

Who would have thought that you could find a gourmet restaurant in a small New Hampshire town like Walpole? We had a really nice dinner there for my daughter's birthday. The meals were excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. The prices are a little high but otherwise it was an excellent experience.
We have visited the Cafe attached to the restaurant as well. They serve the famous Burdick's hot chocolate and pastries that are made with Burdick's chocolate. We love to bring visitors there because the atmosphere is so nice.
The chocolate shop is also very good.

Friendly and Courteous Staff and that's just for starters. My wife and I were in Bellows Falls VT. looking for a place to dine. We looked on TripAdvisor and found this place. We followed the GPS and still felt we were getting lost.

Now we get there and it's 8:50pm. We walked in and asked what time they stop serving. They set up a table with full linens and lit the candle knowing that they were going to stay open past 9pm. The hostess took our coats and hung them for us. Not once feeling rushed we got out drinks very promptly. We ordered the cured meats and cheese appetizer. Over all it was delicious. My wife ordered a rib eye steak that had potato and asparagus. She thought it was one of the best steaks she has had in a long time. The sauce was very flavorful but it didn't over power the steak. I had the lamb shank and it too was just prepared to my liking. The meat just melted and the sauce was just enough to enhance the flavor of the lamb.

We left this place FULL. The price was above moderate but so was all the food. We can't wait until we can get back there again.

Four of us went to lunch last weekend at Burdick's in Walpole, NH. This was our 3rd visit and the first two had been excellent, although expensive. Not so this time.
Although we were seated promptly, things went downhill from there. First, the price for drinks, which are not posted for the most part, were astronomical. NYC is cheaper!
Then, 1 of our entrees had to be returned due to being very undercooked (it was a fish dish). It then took 10-15 minutes to arrive back on the table The steak frites was very tough and their beef stew was more like pot roast. With 6 drinks, soup and no desert, our final tab, for LUNCH, came to over $200 (with tip).
